How can I do this

I am running a historical league with real teams and real players but I do not want the players to necessarily play for the team they did IRL. I am 1/2 way through my season and I moved the draft date to December 1st so that I don't have a draft in the middle of the season with fictional players. I thought that when the new version comes out next year, the players that debuted this year would be available to be drafted. I just noticed now on my home page that it says that pre season starts July 1st, 2011???, Is this because I changed the draft date? I really don't want to be playing games outdoors in Chicago in December. Is it possible to accomplish what I am looking for and if so how? Thanks.

Hmm. Need a little more information. Are schedules set up? What date do you have the season to start on in your league setup options page? You mentioned having fictional players have you made sure import real rookies is checked?

My initial guess is the schedule did not load for some reason or for some reason the season went to starting in july. I am not sure what era you are playing but you may need to download the historical schedules.

Also did you set the year right are you in 2010? If so no historical rookies will import since the database does not cover 2010 since that has not fully happened and we don't know player stats for this year. If you are drafting 2010 and beyond you can have the draft in June because they will all be fictional players of low minor league caliber and not rookies in the MLB. With maybe one or two exceptions.

schedule

I have the year set at 2009, I didn't import any schedules. My season this year started the 1st part of April. I just used the historical league wizard to start the league also. I guess I am confused about something though. If you check import historical rookies does that not mean that they will be on the teams that they are on in real life?
