"Top Players" in feeder leagues fills up with old players

First, I want to say what a blast OOTP 11 has been so far. OOTP 8 Free is what convinced me to buy - never had I seen so many customization options in a sports game.

I've spent about 2 months of trial and error perfecting my ideal league, a massive 48-team major league with all levels of minor leagues, and three high school feeder leagues. I've simmed my way 50 years into the future to create tough season records and plenty of stat history. (Yeah, my game folder is about 15 GB in size now, but it's no problem if OOTP is installed on a solid state drive.)

The only problem I'm running into at this point (and it's very minor) is that when I ask for a "Top Players" report in any of my three HS feeder leagues, the whole list is filled with 20 and 30 somethings who were drafted by a professional club, but never signed. The maximum roster age is 18 for each HS league, so why would they still be affiliated with the high school league instead of being a free agent in a minor or major league?

I tried reducing the number of feeder teams, down to the point where they couldn't even fill up the first-year draft, but it seems like these underachievers just won't move on. Even though HS leagues are usually just there to supply players, every now and then I like to manage one of their teams and see what those kids can do, and the "Top Players" report is useful to see who's hot.

Thanks for any tips you folks can provide.

With the feeder changes in 11, it wants to graduate those players from a HS feeder into college. It sounds like things don't function quite right with only HS feeders. If a college feeder doesn't detract from your setup too much, I'd try adding 1.

You may also want to consider trying a non-feeder setup. With 11, prospects are generated with HS or College schools and stats. A lot of feeder fans from previous versions are happy without them now.

Ah, I was unaware that players could graduate to a college league. I'll give that a shot, thanks!

I can´t see that HS players NOT drafted getting "signed" by College feeders. The moment College teams have players drafted they get new players from "nowher". The HS players that do not sign just drift around in the FA pool in my tries.
Kind of sad, since those HS players should be opted into college come late August so that they could even be re-drafted after their junior years in college.
I can´t see how OOTP simulate RL in case of players getting drafted more than once.
Like the case of the last 2-years high draft choice Levon Washington.
He was drafted from his HS team in 2009, then in 2010 from his Junior College team. In OOTP he should at least be available to be drafted in 2012 in his third year of College (since Junior colleges doesn´t play in OOTP) after getting enrolled by whatever College team after his HS graduate year.
I think he is still unsigned so he might be drafted again in years to come.
