Baserunning?

I'm not exactly new to the game, but I thought this might be the best place to post this question. My apologies if I should not post here.

Is there a way to set it so that baserunning is always controlled by my assistant coach? As it is, as I play each game I change it (most of the time when I remember), but would like to have it remain there. To me (just my opinion) the manager does not tell a baserunner to try to go first to third. The runner will determine that on his own by looking at where the ball is, where the defender is, and how fast he is running. And sending guys home from second is the third base coach's job, not mine.

Thank you for any help you can provide. I did look at the online manual, but it looks like that screen needs to be updated because it has last years options only (no baserunning). Unless I was on the wrong screen?

Your question isn't entirely clear. You have to set those options every time you start to play a game -- your choices don't "stick" from game to game.

If you are really asking about having your "bench coach" make these decisions instead of your "manager", the distinction wouldn't matter. Either the AI (whether you call it the "manager", the "3rd base coach", or "the baserunner") is controlling those decisions or you are. What's new in OOTP11 is the added ability to micromanage your players on the base paths, if you want that ability.

That's what I was looking for. Thanks.
