Player to be named later

i don't know if this has ever been mentioned before, but what about implementing a player to be named later as a part of trades

This would add realism to roster moves in historical sims for periods when the in-season trade deadline without waivers was June 15th. There were many transactions back in the 60's & 70's using the ptbnl. That way you only had to worry about getting the player on one end of the deal through waivers after June 15th. Besides, it is the only way you could duplicate Harry Chiti being traded for himself.

I imagine the primary issue is how would you set up the IOU for return players in the system. From what I remember, the teams either agreed on pre-identified player(s), or would agree on a list of a few players that the receiving team could choose from at a later date.

This would be a cool addition. Not sure how easy to code it would be, but I would like to see it eventually.

As regards Henry Chiti, that's one of those facts that will always amuse me.
