All Star Voting
How in the world is Mark Teixeira head and shoulders above all other 1Bs in the AL in voting? He is not the best 1B in the game, especially right now.
His numbers are not nearly as good as Morneau, Cabrera or Youk! He is batting .221! |

More Yankee fans ? I actually watched a few different teams broadcasts over the last week or two and the commentators were like "go online and vote for our players (doesn't matter if their crap) just vote for our players", time for a change to the voting system ?
As there ever been a rigged vote ? Something on the lines of say the OOTP board having a "Vote Gload" campaign. |

It doesn't mean everyone thinks he's the best right now, surely? They could be biased to their team, or perhaps even the way Teixeira's batting this season, maybe it could be National League fans hoping its a way to help them to actually win the game for once in a blue moon. I guess people have to decide whether they want the game to be a popularity/familiarity contest with polling, or give it over to us geeky stattos to decide everything mathematically. Knowing the wider population's view on geeks, that isn't probably going to happen. Last edited by Sdpm100; 06-05-2010 at 11:14 AM. |

I am subscribed to a yankee newsletter as I used to be a yankee fan, and every 2 or 3 days I get an email from them to keep voting for yankee players for the ASG

No. The ASG is for the fans. If the fans want to see a certain player there, then he should be there, even if it's the "wrong" choice.

You can change the voting system while still keeping it in the hands of fans. It wouldn't be hard to get rid of the market bias.

There is still a long way to go. Only a pretty limited number of votes are in.
Also it's never a good idea to base on the limited current season data to select All Stars anyway.
