Sabermetric Baseball Sim (SBS)
SBS
Sabermetric Baseball Sim Email - sabermetricbaseball@gmail.com Been running since the 2001 season, currently in the 2006 playoffs and about to switch to OOTP 11 from OOTP 10. This league is really a great time, all owners love the game of baseball and are great people. Great core of owners, we just need a few more to fill up openings. Awesome commissioner who seems to always be around to answer questions. He does an awesome job with the league. Of course, we are using real players with FA compensation. Real life salaries, with $125 Million salary cap There are no scouts or coaches we use ratings on a 1-10 scale. We have AAA, AA, A minor leagues Arizona Fall League for prospects to get extra seasoning [league redacted] league with annual Japanese signing. Sims run Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday at around 8 ET. Lots of owner participation and a wonderful website, found here. Sabermetric Baseball Sim Here are the teams available, I listed them with a caption about their current situation. If you are interested, I have paragraphs about each of them underneath. Texas Rangers - Class of the League After the World Series Sim tonight (May 18), the Texas Rangers are World Champions. A terrific GM left the team in great condition for the next owner who wants to add to the dynasty. LA Angels - New GM will need to shake things up Skilled GM Notice! Rotation performed terribly this season, with Adam Wainwright the only one with any upside. Still, they are intriguing because of young hitters Ryan Howard, Jose Reyes, and Troy Glaus. New GM will need to make some trades and shake things up, but the foundation is half-way there. Farm system is good, with depth but no blue chippers. Philadelphia Phillies - REBUILD - SKILLED GM NOTICE The team is a nightmare after logging an 100 loss season last year. Have pieces like SS Jimmy Rollins, SP Chris Young, and OF Bobby Abreu , but the team is currently incapable of contending. Need a stud GM to turn things around. Farm system is WEAK with Brad Bergesen the only bright spot. St. Louis Cardinals - Top Heavy contenders Just like in real life, the Cards have Albert Pujols and 2 stud pitchers that carry the team. Jered Weaver has a Cy Young in his future, J.J. Putz is an all star closer, but Pujols is the heart and soul of the Cards. GM's challenge will be to add pieces that will work with Pujols to bring success back to St. Lou!! Decent farm system with depth but no stand-outs. Colorado Rockies - Young hot shot Contenders Todd Helton and Mike Mussina carried the team, but both are aging. Still, a GREAT YOUNG CORE Hanley Ramirez, Shaun Marcum, Kevin Youkilis, Freddy Sanchez, John Hamilton, and Andre Ethier should be able to be a great team next season. Below average farm system with Kyle Kendrick and Ross Detwiler in the system. Just an absolutely awesome league with a lovable group of owners that are a joy to hang around and shoot the breeze with. If you would like to join, please email sabermetricbaseball@gmail.com with the following information..... *The full name you'd like displayed in the league file *The date of birth you'd like displayed in the league file *Your AIM username (if you have one) *Top 3-5 preferences of available teams Last edited by jasonfield; 05-19-2010 at 12:02 AM. |

3 sims a week, 15 days/sim?
When will you be on OOTP11? I think I'll keep an eye on this one. I really wouldn't want an AL team, but the Cubs, ouch. Going to be a long haul rebuilding them. |

Hi everyone,
My meathead recruiter posted the wrong email address. Please email sabermetricbaseball@gmail.com if you're interested in joining. We've found owners for all teams from the original message, but these teams are now available.... Colorado Rockies Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim New York Mets Philadelphia Phillies St. Louis Cardinals Last edited by Sabermetric Baseball; 05-16-2010 at 11:02 PM. |
