What team would you be?
So i just got fired from the Royals after 4 years and i simmed the rest of the year and now i have about 5 offers on the table and i want to get your insight on who you would control.
Washington Nationals: They have Strausberg off course! But nothing really else going for them but they do have the number 2 pick in the upcoming Draft. Detroit Tigers: They have Cabrera and Rayburn and Verlander and they have the First Overall pick in the upcoming draft Colorado Rockies: Nothing really going on with this team, i just like the fact that i can hit like 800 HR if i get a good HR guy. Choosing between those teams, what do you think? |

I would go for Washington - you get see one of the game's best up and coming starting pitchers? Bonus - you have the 2nd pick this year?

Yeah i was thinking the same thing but i'm pissed that when they had the first overall pick the first year the league starts that they didn't take Bryce Harper number 1. If they had this would be a no brainer. Think i need to dive into there roster to see who else they have.

Ryan Zimmerman = young stud
Jordan Zimmerman = decent pitcher I dumped Guzman, Dunn, Wang as excess salary. In the minors Derek Norris is a decent catching prospect Leonard Davis grew into a decent power hitter Chris Marrero grew into a good hitter Other goodies: JP Ramirez OF Shairon Martis SP - give a couple of years Craig Stammen SP - give a couple of years Garret Mock - SP Only negative so far in my Nats rebuild franchise was the team moving to Jacksonville. I went into commish mode to redo this since a team wouldn't move from a brand new stadium 5 years into it. |

I'd give you my opinion, but I just don't see why it would matter, or should matter to you. Good luck with whatever YOU decide.

Having just spent a couple of weeks in Boulder, i got to say that the Rockies have a surprisingly good core of starting pitching

I'd pick the team in the weakest division. That way you won't have to do as much rebuilding to compete. I would consider Detroit. They have a decent core and the 1st overall pick. They also share the division with the Indians, whitesox, and Royals. Of course, in your universe the quality of these teams may be different.

In my current league, the Rockies are awesome. I wanted to expand an NL team into New Orleans. As part of adding the NOLA team, I moved a few teams around. The Rockies were moved to the American League. Two years in a row they lost game seven of the World Series. In the third year, they won the West but lost to the Yankees in the first round of the playoffs. So in three AL years, three playoffs.
Also, Jordan Zimmerman had an NL Cy Young year a couple years back in my game. Overall Strasburg hasn't been great but the Nationals have been a solid team every year of my league. |

Colorado it is!!!!!! You sold me My question for people out there is, do you find that Colorado hits a lot of homeruns at there home stadium in your League? Reason i ask is i was looking at the Stadium spec and there HR rate looks the same as Dodger Stadium and that doesn't seem right. Also is there anyway to go back to prevs years and look at how many HR's a team has hit at home? |
