You've probably realized by now we've been down a few days. Here's why:
Members Area - WestHost So, now we're back up but things are running really slow. This leads me to believe there may be slow connect times and intermittent outages over the next couple of days. With that being said I've posted a revised schedule in the Announcements forum. Looking forward to getting this season started. Fate must be against us! -Recte

With our "Rain Delay" now over, we're set for OPENING DAY of the 1973 season on Friday morning. We do have one open GM seat that needs to be filled:
![]() The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking for someone to stabalize their rather shaky GM seat. Over the last few years it's been a hot seat- are you the guy who will cool it off and establish yourself as an ORB2 "core GM"??? This is a good team to inherit. They're a true contender for the NL West title, right now. They won it in 1971 and finished just 5 games behind the Brewers last season. Star power? You bet. Willie Crawford, LF, enters his 10th season with the Dodgers and he's only 26 years old. He's truly one of the elite hitters in ORB2. On the mound, the Dodgers are led by trade acquisition Bruce Van Hoff and 2nd year Japanese defector Tsuneo Horiuchi. Interested? Register for our forums (see first post for instructions) and then PM me here with your username so I can approve you. We'd love to have someone passionate about baseball and writing, and being involved in a community!!!

Great League
as the the commish said this is an excellent team to take over. This league requires writing team reviews, voting for all-stars,award winners and taking part in polls.I started in this leagues as an assistant manager in 66 and took over a 69-92 team that won its 1st divisional title in 1970, losing in the World Series and than winning everything in 72.There is a great core of GM's so take the time to visit our web site ,apply and get on the list. There is always lots of trading and the writing really gets you into your team.Hope to see you in one of the greatest OOTPX leagues on the internet.1973 is about to start.

With the end of the 1973 season approaching, we look to have several franchises that may need to be filled at the end of the season with GM's Participation Point totals low this season.

Two current openings in the ORB2:
![]() Kansas City Royals The Royals have been building some nice talent since becoming an expansion team a few years back. They just had the #1 pick in the draft and added Fred Lynn, who looks like he could be one of the All-Time Greats. The last GM added some veteran players such as Willie McCovey in an effort to field a competitive team this year. The Royals are 30-34, 13 games out in the American League West. This is a project of rebuilding. Are you up to the challenge? ![]() Pittsburgh Pirates The Pirates are right in the thick of things in the NL Playoff picture. They are 33-31, which puts them right in the mix for the Wild Card. Ron Blomberg continues to lead the offense, while their pitching staff has been struggling this season and Jim Palmer is their usual ace but has been down this year. We are currently in OOTP10 but will be switching to OOTP11 for next season. If you're interested, join our forums (see first post of thread) and PM me here with your username. Hope to see you soon!

Cubs now open
![]() Chicago Cubs The current NL Wild Card leading Chicago Cubs are now open. Led by 3B Bill Madlock, a first time All-Star this year, and slugging first baseman Mike Epstein, the Cubs high powered offense has them on the right track. Now they just need a GM. We also have KC and PIT currently open. We will switch to OOTP11 at the end of this season.

ORB2 is a great league
I have now been in the ORB2 for going on 9 seasons. It's a blast. A wonderful, well run league, with great owners. Now is a great time to get into the league, and claim one of the currently open teams, in anticipation of our move to OOTP11 in the offseason.
There's something for everyone available. Chicago and Pittsburgh are good, young playoff contenders, and KC is a fixer-upper, with a superstar (Fred Lynn) in his rookie season. So no matter your tastes, the ORB2 can meet them. Come join a great community and have a blast reliving the past. |

I am the owner of the Dodgers, having taken over the team at the start of the 1973 season. I have known the commish for years, and love this league! 3 spots open to give you a chance to learn the league and team before we move onto OOTPXI next season!
Come on down folks, sign up to be a part of a great league with involved owners! |

This is a great league with some of the best board participation you will find. Very well run and the extras really add to the experience. Also a great group of owners, many have been in since the beginning. Don't miss out, will be tough to get in after the conversion to 11!

We're in the offseason of 1974-1975, just getting into the Free Agency Period, and having now SWITCHED TO OOTP11!!!
We have one opening. ![]() The New York Mets were one of the ORB2's best teams throughout most of the late 60's and early 70's. Recently, they've come on some hard times and their longterm GM hasn't had his eye on the ball. However, they do have some really nice pieces to start rebuilding their dynasty with. It all starts with Ed Kranepool. Now just 30, he's well on his way to being one of the all-time greats in the game's history. 2B Joe Morgan and SS Bobby Murcer are nice complimentary pieces as well. On the hill, the Mets have Tom Seaver and Don Sutton but will need to fill the void created when long time ace Sandy Koufax recently retired. Interested??? Register for our forums (see top post in this thread) and then PM me here with your username. We'll go from there!!!
