Bringing a 1998 team into 1901 - Help?

I'm unable to accomplish something that hopefully is something I'm just looking right over.

I'm trying to bring the 1998 New York Yankees into a 1901 historical league. What I expected was the power numbers to be lower, but everyone still hits 20-30 home runs on this team.

I've been working the the league total modifiers, turning them on, turning them off, never seeming to find the right setting. Any suggestions on what I may be overlooking?

Basically OOTP works kinda like this.........

1901 has 255ish available home runs to be hit by players of the 16 teams.

The 1998 Yankees hit 207 HR's all by their ownselves.

In 1901 those Yankees will probably have the majority of the available 255ish HR's so everyone else will hit fewer than they did IRL.

Roughly speaking.

When you put it that way, it makes sense.

Is there a way to normalize things out? So Tino Martinez hits about the 10-15 I imagine he might get?

I think I came across the right combination.
In Game Setup > League Setup > Strategy choose the appropriate year you would like to simulate under Import Settings.

Then on the right hand side of the same screen under League Totals click the Restore Defaults button. All modifiers should read 1.000 now, and League Totals should have the following vlaues:
At Bats: 165849
His: 43524
Doubles: 8737
Triples: 949
Home Runs: 5042
Bases On Balls: 16620
Hit By Pitches: 1590
Strikeouts: 33591
BABIP: .302

I've simmed it a couple of times by importing the 1998 Yankees into a 1901 league. Than brought in the 1988 Oakland Athletics. Both had power numbers more in line with what I'd expect. Simmed a full year with 8 teams from 1988-1998, and got results that were a bit more expected (although some steal numbers are lower than expected).
