What to do during slump?
I'm wondering what to do during players' slump
My skeych thought are: 1) revoming in starting lineup, and making them in reserve for a while 2) demoting to minor leagues for a while if possible Which plan is good? Are there another plans? |

Well, it all depends, probably bench for a game or 2. Minors always depends on circumstances. A lot of times, I move them around in the order (usually lower, but I have moved a guy from #6 to #1 one time and it worked. (maybe he thought he was Soriano)
I also had one time, where a guy was in a slump, so when he came up late in a game, I tried the sacrifice with men on base in a one-run game. He failed. But, next game he started a hitting tear 10-11 games streak of .400+ BA(maybe he was embarrased to be called on to bunt, whatever)

Do what they do in the majors, suck it up.
![]() I was playing a historical league with recalc off. I signed Randy Johnson to a nice, fat extension in 1997 and he went in the tank so badly that I eventually had to waive him and send him to the minors. Fortunately, the expansion Devil Rays picked up in the draft. Suckers. |

Here's the procedure I follow...
1. If he is 0 for 3 in a game (and he has a good 'bunt for a hit' number) I will try to have him bunt. 2. Since I adjust my lineups for every game, I will drop the batter to a lower spot in the batting order. 3. If the above don't work, I will try to 'suck it up' for a while. 4. The next step is to give the player an occasional day off. 5. If things are really bad, I'll swap my player for the best minor league player at the same position. 6. If all else fails, I may try to trade the player if I can get something reasonable in return.

Just be patient. The game engine go by the ratings so eventually the players results will match his numbers.

"Or wear women's underwear."
Of course, if that works, he has to keep doing it. You have to respect a streak. |

it depends?
I think if you're in an important series, and you can't wait for 3 or 4 games for the guy to hit his way out, you might consider benching him or platooning or at least moving him down in the order.
If it's midseason, or early season, just let him hit his way out. It seems like the AI is such that the slump lasts until the player hits again (tautology ) I was playing a historical game and had Don Baylor as a reserve player, and he stayed slumped for a couple of weeks because he wasn't playing regularly to hit his way out of it.

I generally drink myself into a stupor. It doesn't do anything about the player's slump, but I sure feel a lot better about it!!!!
By the way, what does "revoming in starting lineup" mean? |

My English is not good.
It means "be on the bench". Is this right expression?
