Extensions Question

I haven't played OOTP since 2006 and just bought the new version. I know back then you would see guys get frustrated with your lowballing and refuse to sign a contract. Some would refuse to listen and later on in the season they would listen to contract extension offers.

Is this latest version the same way? I just acquired Christian Guzman and Erik Bedard. Both of them say "The player has indicated that he will test free agency and will not listen to any offers," do they stick to that all season?

I've only played one season with the new version (as I'm not counting lots of test and quick sims). I do know that in OOTPX guys would change their minds under some circumstances - I don't see why that would change now. Of course, I have seen guys who were willing to sign decide that they don't want to stay as well.
