How does owner decide how season should turn out?
Does he base his decision on what tools you have? the payroll he sets? or what he "wants" out of life in general?
It seems i have had owners decide they want me to win it all, just because i won it all last year. But i am to try to ignore the payroll cuts i get, and he seems to ignore the fact that i have had to trade guys do to blocked minor league positions, or that i had to dump a bunch of guys do to the fact i just couldn't afford the 3 or 4 veterans that all happen to be in a contract year. Seems the owner makes their decisions very early in the off-season, before and real team organization can get done. |

In my experience, it is based on your team performed the season before. If you won the championship the year before, you'll probably see that expectation again. If you're coming off a sub-.500 season, you may see "winning record" or "close to .500 ball". The owner usually asks for an improvement on the previous season.

Yikes, i hope not.
It would be nice if it was dynamic, just a bit. My tyrant owner shouldnt still expect me to win it all, when 4 of my starters all go down with season long injuries. It sounds pretty one dimensional to me, but there is always next version. |

I think it's based on your overall ability, perhaps the average of all your OVR ratings, at the time he makes the prediction (and probably some variation on personality and recent history)
I went from play .500 ball to Win the Championship! In one year, which shocked the heck out of me. But, sure enough, we won it all and won 105 games in the regular season. For a while it looked bad and he got mad. It seems, somehow, that the owner knows pretty well because it always seems he's close to right about how my team turns out - Granted, I'm only in my 5th season in my solo league. |

im pretty sure which setting (win now, neutral or rebuild) affects the owners exspectation. If you start losing switch to rebuild and i think the owner will hold off on fireing you.

I dunno...my team has 5 straight 120+ win seasons and four WS, and my owner consistently asks only to make the playoffs.
