historical setup, future feeder leagues?
okay so just wanted some input on my idea for a historical/fictional league.
my plan is to start in 1901 with the historical highschool database (thanks spritze), but not to have the league automatically expand, I will expand it myself after the 50s but keep it smaller (24 teams) until I add a few international teams around present day, we will just recommission the concorde to fly to Japan ![]() anyway, I just wanted some suggestions for setting up the league as far as draft and future feeder leagues (for modern day). -since I will be importing historical rookies (including negro league and japan), do I need to do anything with that feature that says have computer generate players for X amount of rounds? -when should I create feeder leagues for modern day? around 2006 is what I was thinking. -what suggestions do you guys have for feeder league setup if I want MLB to be a true international sport (meaning lots of foreign players). I was playing around and see that I can create tiny highschool feeder leagues based in different countries that I think will give my desired effect. So say I have a 2 team Japan HS league, 2 team Mexico HS league, 8 team USA HS league... my question on the feeder leagues is by having such small leagues is that limiting the talent coming from them as well? Does the country talent file that you can edit effect feeder leagues or only effect players from foreign scouting? Finally if I do a international feeder league setup like that, how will it effect the foreign player percentage thing? what will it do to international scouting? see what I am getting at. I guess I still want international scouting because I am not going to do a feeder HS league for every country that produces players, but what should I do with that foreign player percentage thing? I still want at least 50% USA born players. Another side note, with teams in Mexico, PR, Japan, Korea it should be interesting to see if players from those countries do actually prefer to sign with them as the game manual suggests they would. speaking of which is there a way to edit that factor, to make location to home city even more important, so maybe a MLB team in Tokyo has 50% japanese players?
