Just bought OOTP 11
So I'm a brand new newbie.. never played any version of OOTP before. It looks terrific (which I guess is why I bought it) but I'm overwhelmed...
So some quick questions... 1) I just want to dive in and get going. I started a 2010 MLB game. Uhm... so what do I need to do next?? - I started as the New York Mets manager.. I'm not running in Commish mode.. 2) Are the rosters in the latest update accurate compared to the actual 2010 MLB rosters? Or do I need to make some adjustments? 3) Is there a newbie guide to getting started? The manual doesn't seem geared to newbies... I'm watching the interface tutorial at the moment... Thanks, Ken Last edited by Javaslinger; 05-06-2010 at 05:39 PM. |

Well, if you just want to try getting some games in, go to the little calendar at the top of the screen to the left of the days. Then you'll see the list of the game's days. Under your team, you'll have the option of managing that game, or you can select "finish today" to sim. After you finish the game, select "finish today" to move on to the next day.
Note that the first day will be empty because it's the day before opening day, and of course the second day just has the Yankees/Red Sox game that started the season. So on the third day you'll be able to play/sim the Mets' first game, against Florida. If you want to check out your roster and make changes, select the team's home page from the drop-down menu, or click on the home icon (the little picture of the house) to the right of the city name. The other icons are shortcuts to different pages, which can also be accessed via the tabs on the team's home page. |
