Ability to download ALL online league updates as a scheduled task.

For the default views on various pages in game, change the player's uniform number to the player's age.

I would like the ability to re-import the cities.txt file, much like we can re-import the names.txt files...if this is a "small, do-able, programming thing". Obviously not a major factor in playing and enjoying the game.

More realistic expansion draft rules, as outlined in this thread:

"Watched" Games

My usual request--The option for "One Pitch" mode while watching game.
(Manage-watch-a game other than your own team's) (not have to touch anything in order to do this once game starts)
Thanks Much

The Dynamic Evolution of leagues needs a report so that folks can sim for 50 years at a time and see a record of the changes that took places afterwards. It is easy to see team movement and additions, but everything else is pretty much lost.

Also, the playoff formats need to be changed as the leagues evolve too. You can't expand from 12 to 20 teams over time and not add playoff teams.

Great! And any time someone wins some award, and it shows up in the news, have it show up in the player's history (i.e. batting title).

The ability to save a league as a quickstart (all teams, all logos, etc.) but with no players. When I finally create my league by hand with all the parks and logos, I'd like to be able to save that work and re-start that league from scratch over and over again.

I'd also like to see the ability to define my lineups from a more abstract perspective. For instance, in my "quick" league, I have a tendency to sim a week at a time. I'd like to set up particular players in roles rather than having to create discrete 7-day lineups or lineups vs. RHP or LHP. For instance, I'd like to be able to mark a guy as an everyday 2nd baseman. Or, when this guy is in the lineup, I want to bat him 3rd. Personally, I think this makes it easier when playing as a GM. You hire your field manager and he makes the lineups each day, but you also have control (from an abstract point of view) as to who is in that lineup their position and where they bat. For me, this makes it a heck of a lot easier and gives me more control when auto-simming, without having to make discrete changes everytime there's an injury or trade. It's more of a "look, Mr. Manager, I don't care who you put in the lineup or where as long as a) b) and c)..." Also, I'd like the game to recognize the whole day game after night game routine and have my backup catcher start (again, have this as an option in the abstract lineup rule set).

Oh, and the ability to change the scoreboard font

Pinch hitting depth chart vs. RHP and LHP.

Ten and five no trade protection for players (all players in MLB get no-trade protection if they have 10 years of major league experience with five of those years on the same team). This would have to include players taking more into account when being given the choice over whether or not to accept a trade - morale, winning record, expected playing time, proximity to home town.

I think that everything else that comes to mind would be considered a large update.

dynamic stadium moves?

Sorry if this is already implemented... One small suggestion would be for owners to move their teams to new stadiums and/or increase the stadium size as time moves along, even when they remain in the same city. I did a fictional league that started in 1901 recently and noticed in 1950 my teams still had stadiums of a capacity of only 3000. Hopefull a small addition, not requiring too much in the way of programming.

Probably out of scope for the update and maybe not of interest to anyone but me, but I'd like to repeat from the OOTP12 sugegstions forum Link

I play most of my games as GM and leave the game/line up management to the coaches.

Sometimes, though, I'd like a certain player to be in/out of the regular line up or in a specific spot.

Currently I can only do this manually and have to do this every time the coach/manager changes the line up.

I think the following options would be helpful:

1. "Ask Bench Coach [Manager] to fill line up/depth chart" (You select a few players that you want to start and where, the manager/coach fills the free spots)
2. "Always start player" (For players you want in the line up, no matter what)
3. "Never start player" (For players you never want in the line up)
4. "Lock player" (E.g. if you insist that your pitcher bats in the 8th spot )

It would also be great if you could mark players as "don't promote/demote".

Putting the debut in helps put a player's whole career in perspective, otherwise you look at the history file and don't have the slightest idea of when he actually broke into the majors because it may have been quite a long time before anything happened to him that is actually noted in the history file.
Along those lines, the older versions also mentioned a player's first hit, first HR, a pitcher's first win, etc. It would be nice to have that back.

The ability to add subleagues after starting the league, so those of us who play out history in a realistic way don't hit game-breaking bugs in 1882, 1884, 1890 and 1914. (Looking more long-term, the ability to add more subleagues than 2, or, better yet, to just associate any number of leagues with one another.)

Oh, and the easiest to implement of them all: the return of the team average age report. I miss this from the pre-SI OOTP games. If not one league report with all of the teams listed by average age, then maybe a mention in one of the front office screens for each team - average age and team rank in age.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, folks! Keep em coming!

As far as applicability of changes to existing saves, unfortunately, there's just no way to guarantee that - it largely depends on the nature of the change. Where possible we try to ensure that updates address issues for as wide a range of cases as possible, but that's about the best we can do.

Customizeable Accomplishments. If you run a league with a short schedule, like 120 or 100 or 80 games, it's highly unlikely anyone will ever hit 50 homers or drive in 150 or win 20 games.

(I've been requesting this feature since OOTP 2006}

I mainly play with fictional players and I'd like to see players created with more realistic ratings based on the league level. OOTP 11 is better than previous versions especially at the ML and AAA levels. There are many players created with running speed, stealing, base running and power at 1 (out of 250) and pitchers with individual pitch, movement or control ratings of 1. Extremely low ratings may apply to independent or high school leagues but I feel professional leagues should have higher ratings. Maybe a snail would have a running speed of 1. I think a minimum rating should be used for a league. Maybe 22 for Rookie, 25 for A, 33 for AA... Ratings should be on a bell curve. The higher the level the higher the median ratings. Maybe parameters can be added for rating maximums & minimums similar to age max & min. If these are left blank then the game would create ratings as it now does.

It would be nice if the game kept track of "games played" streaks, so we can see who our Lou Gehrigs and Cal Ripkens are. AFAIK OOTP doesn't really track this.
