OK - ballpark question

I had previously utilized the All-in-one facegen package and downloaded Padresfans stadiums from MLB 10 and was very happy with them. Then, yesterday, I saw the updated All-in-one, so downloaded it after doing the 11.1.8 patch.

I am not nearly as pleased with the stadiums as I was with the MLB 10 ones. I guess they aren't bad, but I don't think they are as striking and I also get a problem of the player coordinates being off and position players and batters being in offset positions on the screen.

It's not a huge deal, but I would prefer going back to the MLB 10 stadium images. I downloaded and extracted them again from Padresfans site, but I am still getting the ones from the new All-in-one.

I'm not overly computer savvy, I'm afraid. Can anyone walk me through how to get the MLB 10 stadiums back?

I think you will have to do it manually. From the Home Page of each team, click on Options and Ballpark then Edit Ballpark. There is a tab for picture and coordinates. I don't know of an easy way to mass edit these.

Here is the link for the Ballpark Editor in the OOTP X Manual, the process is the same in 11: OOTP Baseball Manual - Ballpark Editor

Also, I think you have to be in Commissioner Mode to access these pages. This is enabled from the Manager Options page.

joe - Both sets of images are from MLB10. The original set included in the original All-In-1 were from a very low angle, and the new ones included in the updated All-In-1 are from the higher angle. Which is the set you want to use in your current saved game?

Not real worried about the current saved game, cause I'm just doing a one-year current season quickie ...

However, I'd like to have the 1st batch be the ones that are automatically loaded if at all possible ...

Like I said, not a huge deal ... the 2nd set aren't terrible or anything by any means (except that several fields seem to have the coordinates off kilter and I can't seem to correct them) ... I just thought the 1st batch were a bit cooler and preferred them ...

Thanks ...

If you are not worried about a current game, then you can delete the new ones out of your ballparks folder and replace them with the older ones. Then these will be used in subsequent new games you create.

I was afraid you'd say that. To have the 1st batch automatically load, you would need to place the original parks.dat file in the majors.quick directory. I don't have a copy of that particular file. Maybe someone reading this has it???

The primary problem is that I used different file names for the new ballpark images when I created the updated All-In-1 Mod. This means that TribeFans suggestion won't work, since the parks.dat file will still have the new ballpark filenames.

The solution is manual. After creating the MLB 2010 game, you'll have to go into Commissioner mode and edit each ballpark to your liking. You'll need to manually select the new image (day/night) for each ballpark, and change the coordinates for the players and ball-flight... Sorry I don't have a better solution...

I haven't updated the all-in-one as I am playing fictional right now, but I'm glad I saw this thread because I am interested in keeping the original parks in the low angle. I was surprised at how much I liked watching at the lower angle because with the ball flights it actually seemed three dimensional because the relatively level profile of the field didn't emphasize that the ball was merely a 2D straight line.
