about hostorical league
Hello there, newbie here, as you can guess
![]() I have a question about past seasons simulation: I want to play a historical game spanning over multiple seasons, but I don't know if teams will relocate no matter what. I mean: I have read the leagues will expand at historical dates but I haven't understood if clubs will move under any circumstances. Can I avoid, say, the Dodgers relocating to California? Thanks in advance, people

You can avoid this, but only by turning OFF automatic league expansion. This option is a bit of a misnomer in the league setup, because it not only expands the league automatically but it also relocates teams automatically according to history.
However, you can turn this off and still have your league expand by using the manual expansion mode. There is an area of your league options where you can do this after your game is created. Consult the manual for more information about expansion mode, but you'd have to manually select the locations of the new teams and set up the expansion draft. But this way you should be able to keep the Dodgers and Giants in New York while you still allow the 1961 expansion and subsequent changes. Or, you could develop your own alternate universe where future expansions as altered due to relocations not happening. For example, the New York Mets would not exist today if the Dodgers and Giants had not left New York eventually. So what would have happened in 1962 if the Mets didn't join the NL? Which city would have gotten a team? |
