Ratings Change for players
Has anyone had a dramatic drop like I have? For example I had Mike Pelfrey at a 57 overall 60 potential then after sprint training he dropped to 21. I assumed he just got "bad" but two things are making me wonder. 1) That is a huge drop off and 2) this also happened to about 3/4 of my team. Even newly signed FA. I signed Nelson Cruz who had a rating of 70 and now he dropped to 23. He is a very expensive 23. I didnt open a support case yet because I want to see if anyone is experiencing this? Thanks for your replies oh and by the way this is the first time I buy OOTP I used to play another baseball sim and this game by far is the greatest baseball sim I have ever EVER played!!

Your scouts will rate a guy really high, then change his mind mid season. The only solution is to turn scouts off. With scouts off you see the REAL potentials and ratings.

Also make sure that you are looking at your scouts ratings not the OOTP scouting. Those numbers can differ dramatically. it's easy to toggle back and forth and not even no it, or sometimes it seems like the game does it on it's own. Check that first before turning off scouts.

Just remember if you turn scouting off you lose the 'fog of war' and you always see the players true ratings. It takes the mystery out of it. Nothing wrong with turning it off if you don't like the feature. You can also raise the scouting accuracy so you are less likely to get huge changes in your scout's opinons.
Also, scouts tend to do better at evaluating those with major league experience as opposed to players in the amateur draft. |

For those that dont know he was a great scout before he became a Gm and I am amazed that OOTP took tjat into account when creating his attributes. |
