A few OOTP11 questions

I pre-ordered the game but have been so busy I have not yet had a chance to play. That said I have some questions!

1. Whats the max number of teams/divisions supported by OOTP11? I want to run a "world league" that would consist of 5 divisions of 6 teams and two leagues, 60 teams total.

2. Can I use my custom OOTP10 names files? I have spent the last 12 months tweaking this file to my tastes and this would be a deal breaker forcing me to stay w/ v.10

Thank you!

1. Don't know if there is a "max".

2. Yes.

I think the max is whatever your computer can handle.

In my last game, I had a feeder league bigger than that.

The maximum in one league is 2 sub leagues, each with 50 divisions of 50 teams per division, so 50*50*2 = 5000 teams per league (I'd have a 2048 team playoff lol) .

How many 5000 team leagues your computer can handle depends on various things.

LOL Damn! I can only imagine what a 5000 team draft interface might look like

Can you imagine how many hours it would take to sim one season?
Even one day!

One thing that really influences how large of a league your computer can really handle is not just the size of the major league, but the size of all the leagues that go along with it. I think almost everyone who picks up OOTP at first has desires of running a league with full minors, rookie to AAA. The larger the minors are, the slower the computer will be because it has to process more each day. On top of that, after designing some leagues with massive minor league systems I made one that was relatively minimal, AAA to A only. I was amazed at how much more fun it was to play without the tediousness of having to shuffle players.

Of course, OOTP does let you have the computer handle a lot of minor league work for you if you want, but those are my minor league teams and I want to handle them.

Unknown. I have yet to reach a limit. But it's a very big limit, if it isn't a function of how many of them your computer can handle.

FWIW, my NCAA feeder has about 250 teams (every major conference and many minors), while my HS feeder league has about 300 teams -- and it hasn't really added much to my sim times.

The only thing I'm still struggling with is that I tend to get far too many undrafted free agents and my drafts are far too deep... Still tinkering with the feeder player creation settings to try to rebalance this (any advice on that would certainly be welcome!)
