Hall of Fame
I have a fictional league that I run and it was started with all fictional players. I play out each game and there is a 90 game season.
I am wondering how to adjust the Hall of Fame requirements. One possibility would be to just set the requirements proportionate to a shorter season (i.e. 90 games vs. 162, or about 55% of a full seson). However, the one issue I am finding is that as players begin to retire, they do not meet any of the requirements because they haven't played long enough. For instance, my fictional league start and a player is 32 years old. He plays for 7 years and retires. Over those 7 years, he hits .310 and hits 180 HR. This HR pace would be the equivalent of 46 HR per season for 7 years. Yet, he would not automatically qualify since it's the beginning years of my league. Any suggestions? Do I manually just induct players and I see it, or should I adjust the automatic requirements each year to account for this? What would you do? Thanks, Brian |

I would set the values to all 0's and manually induct all the players. It allows you to review the players on a case by case basis, which can be pretty cool to walk down memory lane with some of your past players.

I say manually induct them. Then once you start getting enough history you will be able to set some baseline numbers for induction.

set all HOF requirements to 90/154 or 90/162 of the base settings...
