First Steps
I'm sure everyone has a different view on this, but I guess being new to this, what are some first steps people take when they either start a new team in a new league or take over a team (both online play)..?
Just curious what I should tackle, accomplish first.. Or maybe there is a guide or tutorial that talks about this? Looking for some ideas... Thanks |

Assuming my first real knowledge of the team is when I take over.
How is the pitching now? Barring injury, how does it project over the next 3 years if 50% of my prospects develop. I always put pitching first, others promote a more balanced approach. Not I. From there: Has the team been sucessful? Does it seem it will continue? Are there young propects or a gold mine I can tap? Then I start asking myself other questions. Burn it to the ground rebuild? Gut the minors to win now and the next 2-3 years? What shade of grey is best for the long term? I am a roster checking freak, I always target teams in financial trouble to take bad contracts while upgrading average prospects into good to great ones while rebuilding. Always target teams that I think are considering a rebuild. I don't want a bidding war. I want the guy that may take me over the top. My $.02. Thanks, LP
