Got home from a meeting and fired up the game. With all of the hullabaloo about licensing today, I was more than a little nervous, especially since I got my first Mac ever last Thursday and was already worried about how the game would load on that.

I am happy to report that there were no issues licensing or loading the game. What I have seen so far is incredibly well put together. The screens are slick, the speed is amazing, and it doesn't take forever to switch skins.

I'm setting up a historical league and was thrilled to see that in the historical wizard there is a recap for every season I scrolled through. A small touch I know, but I think it adds to the game.

What an outstanding game! The amount of options and information available is incredible. I could lose countless hours just scouring over the history of the MLB and then there is an entire game beyond that. Now time to get back to my baseball universe.

From what I've seen, 11's great!
Did you copy/paste your license key correctly?
Similar thing happened to me, and I found out that I somehow copied my license key with an extra space after it by accident, then pasted it to the game.
I know I should be the only one to make such a stupid mistake, but the license key remains in an activation page, once you paste (type) it, so once you make a mistake pasting it, then it remains that way...

Hope you solve the problem, juanito89.

I think this may solve that. Select ootp preferences and in that box, click on expert settings. You'll see where you can select where you want your saved games to go. I could be wrong, but won't hurt to try.

I think that would work for save files, but don't believe it works for the entire directory structure of your other custom files.

A big thanks to Marcus, Steve, Andreas and crew,

No problems with the install or license.

I am really enjoying the new interface and options. Just getting a new MLB 2010 season set up and ready to go.

Also diggin' the Game Setup > Add-Ons Central > H.F.P. 2010 MLB all-in-one mod that I downloaded and installed within the game.

I'm not sure i'd call it a bug or not, but when I went to install it, when I loaded up the game, it seemed to have reset my mouse drivers or something because my mouse was zipping around the screen, and wouldn't go back to normal when I closed the game. Is this normal? Does it go away?

Well done. This one LOOKS great. The opening splash screen is fantastic. The layout is nice and the historical facegen has me cracking up to see Clemens and The Man of Steal in all their glory!

The AI seems to be pretty bad at seeing up the minor leagues. Using the ABA small league quickstart thing and telling the AI to set up the complete minor league system winds up with AAA having 25 players, 7 of which are pitchers, 8 outfielders, stuff like that. Single A has 26 pitches and 2 catchers. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

A little weird

Whatever that was (not letting me change the manager's name) it's gone now! Great so far!

First Impression...I am very impressed! The install went off without a hitch and everything works perfectly.

I loaded the QS Major League database and took over as GM of my beloved Pale Hose. Had a fantastic time playing the home opener in pitch by pitch mode. The Tribe's Justin Masterson threw a 3 hit shutout at Ozzie and the boys.

At this early stage, I could not be happier. Many thanks to Markus and all those involved in making this possible.

I really like the compare players feature...with the ability to see who your player is similar to throughout history.

First impression...I'm impressed.

Game installed and licensed without a hitch and quickly too. Game started quickly, new league was set up quickly. I like the much speedier OOTP 11.

I don't like change. And I was afraid I would be stumbling around with the new interface. But not so. Seems like just a minor re-arrangement of things. I was able to find my way around without too much stumbling.

I really like the starting screen that kind of explains where I am in the season and gives a newbie hints on things to take care of.

I'm not sure I like the baby blue theme, but I know I can change skins. Overall, visually, I think the impression is more festive, fun and uplifting than the sometimes dull and matter of fact impression of OOTP 10.

Now for some more rigorous testing of new features and playing out actual games.

By the way...excellent job OOTP team! And nice to see the authors interacting with the community on opening day.

Sometimes it looks like it's not changing the manager's name, but once you click past that screen, it makes the change. It's a weird glitch that has been there for multiple versions.

But if you were experiencing something else, then I don't know.

One other thing. Thank you very much for a mid April release! Much better than May or June.

Glad to see mostly positive responses! I should point out that, compared to the number of preorders we had, the # of people experiencing problems is a tiny, tiny fraction. It just looks like more when everyone's posting on the same thread.

If you're having an issue of any kind, PLEASE send in a support ticket. We simply can't keep track of whose issue has been resolved if we have to decipher it from 75 pages of threads in the General Discussion forum.

It's fine if you want to post here, and maybe others will have ideas on your problem. But if you're frustrated and want help, please make sure your issue is formally logged.

This IS the busiest time for us, but we'll do our best to get back to you ASAP. As of this moment, despite all of the traffic, our support system has less than 10 tickets that are currently "in our court." Everything else has been replied to and awaiting customer response, or resolved already.

Thanks everyone!

what do you know, I did the exact same thing

that single space at the end was the problem

I would've never thought of that by myself :P

strange, how the key was accepted with the extra space, but not saved with it.

oh well thanks a lot mate!

people, watch out for the spaces!
