I think with this note Marcus is refering to the the kind of problems I mentioned in my post i.e. mainly stuff that results from new features or tweaked settings. I don't think this refers to actual problems when copying the files.

Battists,
Thanks, I'm not a computer wizard, so I will probably need some more help, once I begin.

Sorry you are having problems. Hope my post didn't come across as saying you must be doing something wrong, certainly not intended that way. Not knowing your experience with importing I was just confirming that I had never had issue with importing an on-going season.

Hope you get your issue sorted out.

When you open your lg folder, there are a bunch of dat files there. Copy all of them.

Try importing that temp.lg same as you did your other one. Find the World.dat and click on it. It should import. Once it completes, you should be able to copy all your other stuff over such as images, logos, etc.

Uh, finish the other two steps in my post?

Quote:
3. Import the temp.lg game
4. If that works, then afterwards copy all of the ancillary files over to the newly-created .lg folder (we can help you do that if it gets that far)
Your temp folder MUST have a .lg extension though!

I tried all that and it is doing the same thing. It copied all the files and started over again at Leagues.

Shut down OOTP.

Look in your old .lg folder from ootp 10. Copy the contents of every subdirectory from your old .lg folder to the matching directory in the NEW .lg folder (that has whatever name you entered when you converted to OOTP11).

So, for example, there is a NEWS directory. Copy the entire contents from there into the NEWS directory in your new league. Do NOT copy the "root" files, which would be all of the .dat files.

Then start up OOTP 11 and load the league.

And if this works, BACK UP YOUR LEAGUE. And back it up regularly going forward. This is always true if it's a long-standing league that is important to you!

Thx, this is what I wanted to know. About an hour so far and it's still churning away.

When it is doing this, it is copying your almanac files. To make the import process much quicker, I suggest deleting or moving your ootp10 almanac files before the import.

I'm seeing the same thing, I have 11 years of almanac files that each have their own "players, images, box scores" directories that it has to run multiple times. Ah well, after 3 hours I'm on the last season (thankfully on family time and not taking up my gaming time). One more to go and I'm playing!

History...

...I've successfully converted my OOTPX league over without to many problems...the only thing I notice is that the player's history is missing...opened league up in X and everything is displayed properly...but none of the actual history text (draft order, scouting updates, injuries, etc.) has copied over into XI...anyone else have this problem?

edit: ended up restarting as I missed a few options I had wanted to include...this time, the reimport successfully included all of the player's histories....not sure what happened the first time around.

However, one thing I did note---my gold glove awards didn't complete for my final ootpx year (I imported the day after the world series final game). In both OOTP conversions, I only received one gold glove award in each subleague, instead of one at each position in each subleague. Anyone else notice similar?
