Hell - put one in Buffalo too and we could have a NY division

Markus can't praise you enough for v11 - Purchasing your game is actually going to be saving me a lot of $$ - less going out, purchasing other games, ect.

LOL - Markus must have love for the state of NY. In 2030 the FBL exanded two more teams. San Diego Silencers and The Bronx Clippers

So do the relocated teams have larger media contracts?

It would be totally awesome if financials changed to reflect the expansion and also affect existing teams in the area, since there would now be more competition among the clubs for fans.

So just to be clear, if I start a MLB Quickstart today, with the official release on Wed, I will then have the option to make the MLB league I start today a "dynamically evolving" league?

Your rules are a little more relaxed than MLB's.

New York City and the surrounding areas are considered one territory by MLB, and the Major League Rules since 1962 have specifically stated no city can be host to more than two major league clubs.

OOTP's financial system at present isn't really sophisticated enough to do that sort of thing. But a personal endeavour of mine is to see the financial model be overhauled and improved so that it's more dynamic, fluid, and realistic in the way it operates so it would be able to do the kind of thing you mention.

I've done quite a bit of research on that front and have dug up a decent amount of financial data to use as reference.

As a general aside, it's commonly thought that to handle two clubs in the same city you cut the population total of the city in half. But studies have shown that's not really accurate. The presence of a second club in a city results in more total attendance than a single club would generate, as that second club enhances overall interest in the sport.

If I start a 2010 MLB Historical League using Lahman database will the historical face gen pictures work and will the league automatically evolve? I know if the use the QuickStart MLB2010 league it will not dynamically evolve but I was thinking if I started from scratch historical then it would. Also I was thinking the facegens might of been made off the twill/gambo dbase so wasnt sure if the historical faces worked with lahman.

Where exactly is the setting at? I am having a tough time locating it. This is a league I exported from OOTP 10 so I am not even sure its an option.

In 2055 the league expanded two more teams: Dallas Black Diamonds and Chicago Caribous. So since 2010 the team has expanded by 6 teams and four teams have either changed names or located.

I was also looking and some league news and Philly's owner died and now the team is run by his son.

Pretty neat...

During Beta Testing I had some cool changes with this feature. DH was turned on, 40 man roster size changed and DFA Period length changed.

Cool, the rate of expansion seems perfect!
I was worried before about it expanding to fast, but that seems a good pace.

If you don't want the borough teams then you can always edit cities.txt, and delete the five of them.

Originally they did not appear in the game, I think it was in the SI version, but someone moaned that their historical team didn't have their city set automatically because there was no Brooklyn, NY in the cities.txt, so it got added, but for some reason so did the other four.

What year did you start with? Did you start with historical rosters or fictional?

2010 fictional... I'm running this sim on my work computer. I'm going to continue to run this for another hundred years - I'm about to leave work so I'll post some more impressions of this league in the morning.

Its not there so I am guessing I will have to wait until the next release to see this option. I hope.
