Importing a season from 10 to 11
Can't figure it out, and i think i have done it 3 times in the past. Help! trying to import an ootp 10 season. I go to the main screen choose Import OOTP 10 game go to my directory, find my league, open it up but there is no World data file. only a world template file. I tried ootp 9 also for one of my leagues but again no world dat. file just world template. Please help.

Prepare to let it run for a bit. Its been running for about 30 minutes and still seems like there is plenty of work to be done.

Both leagues have a lot of history so it should be awhile. I still have to transfer the imported game from my desktop to the laptop. That should taken even longer. Well worth the wait though. |

Is there a list of new features/settings that won't work for imported in-progress OOTP10 seasons? Are there things that will have to wait until offseason to take effect or become activated?

Ok I found it now a new problem,,,Is there a reason that once it copies a specific file why it would go back and try to copy it again? It has copied my League players folder and teams folder twice, and then repeats itself.

I certainly can't think of any reason why it would do that. Are they truly identical (same size, etc -- you could check it out more if you wished). I suppose if they are truly the same, you could just trash one of them and move on. If the game isn't working, though, you might have to get some technical help.

I don't think so. Someone else asked about feeder leagues, which I couldn't answer. Other than that possibility, I don't think there is anything you should be concerned about.

It's just keeps repeating copying the same folders (alot of them now) over and over again and wont finish. I am trying to import a league that i am in mid season with. Maybe that's my issue.

That wouldn't be an issue. I'd recommend cancelling that import and try starting over.

Done that. in second attempt now still copying same folders over and over.I have seen documentaion that importing a season in play might night work properly. I also had difficulty in backing up my league, it freezes up on me.

I've never had a problem converting a league at anytime of the year/season. |

Personally I've never had a problem with importing an old game even if it was midseason. Now their might be some issues with new features only coming into effect after the season is over or stuff like that but I doubt that importing a game during midseason should cause the kind of problems you seem to be facing.

Here is the documentation
Taken from the OOTPB Manual: # You can import a game file at any time during your game's calendar year. However, for league consistency, we recommend converting after your last playoff game, before proceeding to the offseason. # We highly recommend making a backup of your newly imported league, and auto-playing several seasons into the future, to assess whether the upgrade has caused any major changes or imbalances in your league. This is particularly true regarding league financial data, since many of the financial algorithms have been altered significantly to increase realism. |

Almost sounds to me like you might have a corrupt league file. |

One option is this :
1. Create a new .lg folder, call it "Temp.lg" 2. Copy JUST the .dat files from your old league and place them in temp.lg 3. Import the temp.lg game 4. If that works, then afterwards copy all of the ancillary files over to the newly-created .lg folder (we can help you do that if it gets that far)
