Which team will be the bigger challange?
Very simple. Vote for who you think would be the hardest team to start with and win a world series. Take the future into account, cause I think the nationals w/ Strasburg have a very good team for the future...
I can't decide and was hoping the OOTP community could lend a hand because I know a lot of people are like me and look for that "challenging save".

I'd say the Pirates.

Agreed. Pirates... Pirates or Royals. Pirates would be more challenging imo though.

Royals. Outside of Greinke, Butler and Soria we just simply have nothing resembling Major League talent on this roster. Any decent players we do have are in their 30s. Our minor league system is full of hope as opposed to talent, we are in one of the smallest markets in the league, our owner isn't interested in spending money on a winner (not sure if this is reflected in the game) and our payroll is full of Jose Guillen.
Oh, and we play in a pitcher's park but we can't afford more than 1 or 2 good pitchers. So our hitters look worse because Kauffman Stadium is hard to hit in anyway, not to mention the fact that our hitters are terrible, and our pitchers don't see as much benefit as they could from the stadium because our pitchers are in fact awful. I love the Royals. No post-season since 1985 and still going!

Gotta say I'm leaning towards the Royals, Pirates or Nationals. But I like the Baltimore save also... They have better talent then the other 3 but have the hardest division by far... They could be harder just for the fact that I have to beat out the sox, yanks and rays every year to accomplish anything!

I'd have to say the Royals. They have Grienke, Soria, and Butler, but their farm system took a huge hit with hurdles by Hosmer and Moustakas.

I say the bluejays for a few reasons. Number one being the divison they are in. With the rays, yanks and red sox all being powerhouses that is pretty tought to beat all them. Plus Baltimore also has been getting better talent from trades. Number two, the bluejays are stuck with some pretty bad contracts that are not movable.
Now I agree that the royals and pirates are worse teams I think it would be easier for them to do moves and win there division or the wild card. |

I agree with the Blue Jays. Rushed my way through a 2010 series as the red sox and couldnt even get the wild card because both NY and TB dominated the east. any other division redsox would have won the division by atleast 8 games.

Heck I'd even go with the Cubs, I mean they STILL haven't won a World Series. in what... 102 years now?

I'd forgotten the blue jay had so many big contrats. Wow I thought this would be an easy decision.

Blue Jays have the big contracts and the hardest division, but also a higher budget and a handful of legit top prospects.
Pirates have a very young team but seem to have a plan for most positions and decent minor league depth. So I don't consider them to be all that difficult in the long run. Royals have some great top end players, but no depth and a lack of legit top prospects. They also have a small market and low budget. Padres are going to be really tough as well. A lot of positions are in disarray there. I don't know yet which one would be the hardest in the game, but any would be a good challenge. |

I'm voting for Toronto also, there's no way to beat the Sox and the Yankees. Any decent free agent that enters the AL East is headed right to those two teams until they get salaries under control.

Nationals are NOT hard to start with. I started a new game twice and each time the Nationals start the season like 4-0 or 5-0 I would say Blue Jay probably is the hardest because their division is just so strong and they were full of Relief turn starting pitchers so their pitcher generally has low stamina |

We should have a contest!
I think we should have a contest to see who can bring the Pirates a world championship in the shortest time. Now THATs a challenge!
