2010 New York Yankees Official Thread

Thanks G&GH for leading the way. Hopefully, we'll see other team threads soon...

As for the Yankees, well, not the best way to start the season. CC was left in too long and the bullpen looked horrible. Offense was rolling though with ever starter getting at least 1 hit. Should be a very interesting year for Yankees baseball

Aside from how he pitched, Sabathia looked huge, maybe he's been taking weight loss lessons from JaMarcus Russell lol.

I'll be interested if he starts against the Rays on the 9th since the Yankees have two off days between now and then.

I would expect the 10th as I think they are only planning on skipping Hughes the first go around. Vazquez would be slated to start the 9th if there are only 2 more games between now and then.

Thanks for the capital "Y" in Yankees, Joe. I think after a championship season like 2009, we deserved it! Thom was a bit too humble with the off-season thread, IMO.

He sure came up big, I'll say! I might have to go big screen this year, just for his games.

No question about CC being left in too long.

Is it a coincidence that Girardi does not have a contract for next year? I have a feeling he is on a short leash.

He didn't get much help from his friends, though. Two BS's in that game for the Yanks, and Park looked especially terrible.

I cannot even fathom that. Post-[George]Steinbrenner, I'd say a winning Yankees manager has a honeymoon period of at least two seasons.

Considering Girardi was about a weekend away from being canned mis season last year, if he doesn't make the playoffs this year, I would be he is a goner. He is not very well liked by the press or the players.

Get this back on topic or I'll be forced to create a bacon thread in OT and move all of this crap to it

** Edit .. done. Please keep this thread on-topic.

did not take girardi long to start being awful at managing his pitchers this season... no way CC should have been sent back out in his first start

Agreed. Although I doubt it would have made much difference in the long run seeing how badly the bullpen threw.

I came here to post something about Robbie Cano and his 9th inning HR. But you know something? It's gotten a bit stuffy around here. Too many self-important moderators throwing their virtual weight around, perhaps? See ya!

No, don't let him get to you. I agree it was unnecessary but what can you do?

I enjoy talking with you.

I sent this via PM but I'll post it here too. I apologize if my actions offended you. I felt I had no choice as the conversation went too far for a non-OT forum. I don't take moving posts lightly, and I can count on one hand the # of times I've done it.

Sorry.

If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to PM me.

You could have talked to Joe privately as one moderator to another for one thing.

It wasn't unnecessary...this isn't OT. Just because this guy wants to throw a fit doesn't mean Joe didn't do the right thing here.

Believe me, it wasn't a slight towards Joe, he knows I have the upmost respect towards him. If anything, it went off topic because of my questioning the situation that came up in this thread. We weren't trying to take it OT, I was just curious.

Anyway, its over and done and lets just move on
