I'm starting a league, and the financial option in OOTP3 is something I've always neglected since I've had the game. Therefore, since I'm starting a league, I'd appreciate a lot if someone who has extensive knowledge of the financial system in OOTP3 could help me out a little bit. So if anyone can help, I'd be really happy.
Later!

I have a good recommendation.
Don't use OOTP finances. Create your own system. OOTP finances are unfairly random and fairly anti-competitive. Unless you WANT that ------------------------------- The FOBL, baby... |

Well basically I needed help about a salary cap system, because I'm setting up a 16-team league and I don't want teams with $100 000 000 payrolls

I have found the following system to work pretty well AFTER you initially edit the finances to suit your league.
SALARY CAP = LAST YEAR'S REVENUE + CASH ON HAND Using this system, a team can actually lose money for the year, but, in doing so, will lower cash on hand for the next year, which will lower their cap for the next year. |

Well since this is a 16-team league, payrolls will be really high. That means that revenues will most likely be negative, so unless all teams start with $50million we will have a major problem.
That gives me an idea... if you apply that, but set the initial cash amount for every team to $50 million, and work with a $50 million salary cap for the first year, would it be realistic knowing that it's a 16-team league?

The leagues that I use my salary cap equation in have 16 teams and there are no teams with payrolls near 100M.
I set cash max at 10M and equalize past year's revenues prior to season 1 and it works fine. |
