Help w/ My Fictional Jersey's

Hey guys. I recently decided to make my own fictional league. It starts in 1900 and is supposed to be a replacement for the MLB. Any way the logic in this is that as the game progresses the league will get more organized and graphically sharper as I get more familiar with the game and PSP.

With that said I am as new to the game of Jersey/Cap/Logo creation as you can get. Literally I jumped in head first only 3 weeks ago. I have 3 weeks exp with PSP. I'm slowly getting it and some of my jerseys came out really well , but I was just hoping someone more experienced than me could give me some notes. Keep in mind these are very very Basic.

1) Memphis- This is one of my favorites, but to better explain my point I added the blue chest stripes. How do I get the word "Kings" to lay on top of the stripes, so If I wanted to add them the stripes appear to go behind "kings".

2) Providence-This was the first one I made, and I'm shooting for a plain/traditional look. Again the Stripes get in the way of my word "AB's", this might be the same as above. But I've noticed from other Jersey's like this that the pinstripes don't go through their logos.

3) For the words on the chest I have been using the word tool, not a logo and placing it on the Button Jersey group. Then like with Memphis I'll copy the logo over on to the Button Jersy Group. Is this the wrong way of going about it?

4) Not to much I dont Like about Boston's jersey just want to show it off.

Any tips. If you don't follow I can elaborate, just want to give as much info as possible with out writing a book.

1) It looks like you are using layers. You need to move the Kings layer above the stripe layer and that should fix you up. The layers work highest to lowest with the highest rated layer on top of all the graphics so if Kings is at the top (or close to) you should be good.
2) It looks to me like you letters are on top of your stripes but your letters are thin so it can look like it's getting run over by your stripes on the jersey. The way I would fix this is add another stroke of white (or the color of the jersey) to the outside of the letters. The white blends in with the jersey and will cover up the stripes. The way to do this is start over with your letters and the first layer of your stroke for your lettering will be white because you want that on the outside of your lettering. I would use just one size larger than the black or the color you are using now. So if you used a 2 for the stroke on your letters you would start with a 3 of white. Then you hit the layer tab and go to Duplicate Layer.... Once you create the duplicate layer you go back and add the layer of black at 2 (or what ever size you were using) to the letters and at that point the stripes shouldn't look like they are running over your logo and the white will only be visible around the stripes.
4) It does look good

2) I just reread what you wrote about how you are adding the logos to the jersey. You can add the logo as you are doing now but on the logo layer go to the Layer tab - Layer Style - Stroke. When the stroke box opens click on the color box (it's normally red as default) and use the eye dropper on the jersey to sample the jersey color then change the px from 3 to 1. That should fix it

You may have found this already and if so disregard it. Here is a cap/jersey tutorial that is a great resource when learning about jerseys. I think he uses psp with it.

Check out PadresFan's site. It has templates in the Facegen section made by Deft, No Pepper and myself (bassman58 or micropterus58) plus many other files. http://padresfanmods.net/

Try searching using Google or Bing for tutorials or help or tips for Paint Shop Pro. These tutorials will help you learn to use various tools and techniques. Photoshop tutorials can also be useful.

search - "psp tutorial" or "paint shop pro help" (use the quotes)

Thanks for the tips guys. I have been using the PSP templates from padres mod site. Also been using those tutorials as a guide, but now it's just a trial and error process to learn PSP.

Batboy, I moved the layers up and it worked like a charm. I didn't think the problem was that easy to fix but it did the trick thanks.
