Having OOTPHist 5.1 Problems?

Everyone having problems, please send me the data files and a brief description of the error for the year that is creating the errors.

Be sure you are exporting all the csv files (19, I think, not couting the career ones). Zip those files plus the 3 HTML files (league, lnews, and ltrans) and email them to me. Please only include those 3 HTML files and not the whole folder in order to keep the files size down.

I tested alot of years with several leagues, but obviously cannot recreate the diversity of the leagues out there. This will be the quickest/easiest way to get these fixed.

Everyone will need to update the ootphist.mdb file in the program folder. The one included with the 5.1 update still has a 5.0 version number and will give an error when a new database is created.

You can do this in 2 ways:

if you have Access 2000, open ootphist.mdb, click File/Database Properties, select the Custom tab, and update the Version property to 5.1.

I think some others are also still get errors. I know I am. I am sure Cato is going through the program and will give us a fix in time.

I have a question. My logos get transfered correctly, but my player photos do not. IS this because I'm using the player names instead of player IDs?

I hope not, I use player names too. I prefer not to recycle the old photos by accident.

No, the database is by far not the only problem. The 5.1 release is pretty much a disaster...might have to fire someone in the QA department!

The good news is that I've fixed alot of it. I've ran the program against the files sent to me and they are all working now.

For the pictures, the program looks for a pXXX.bmp file for each player. If it doesn't find this it looks for a fname_lname.bmp file and copies that one. The next release will reverse the order, look for the name file first then the number file. If the files are there in either format, it should be copying them.

Well, mine are in fname_lname form, but are not being transfered. Anyone else having this problem?
