WBL - 3 Team Openings!!! Do you like to write articles???
The World Baseball League is seeking three ACTIVE owners who like to write articles and f*#k around on the message board!!!
Any OOTP level accepted! Newbie to jaded veteran! http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/deh34/ We are a 16 team league with fictional players who are household names to us. We have a bunch of owners who like to write articles and turn our fiction into reality. And with 16 teams, your voice definitely contributes greatly to the league. I run an EXTREMELY democratic league, as well. Everything is voted on. The league is about to enter its fourth season and is as strong as ever. We have a 75 mil salary cap and coaches and scouts are turned off. New owners may relocate their teams in the off-season. All owners may rename the players they draft in the ammy drafts. You may create your own logo and uniforms and such. We will be switching to OOTP5 after the playoffs, and Monday night we will be having a live playoffs sim. The teams open are Naples (average), Dublin (above-average), and Jupiter (quite a piece of work!). If you are interested, you can contact me via the following: email: deh34@cornell.edu AIM: DaveKNSnut Please do not join if you do not like participating on league message boards or writing an article every once in awhile. Thank you kindly! Last edited by deh34; 05-05-2003 at 12:40 AM. |

My team (Seoul Assassins) was the WBL champ in 2002, and now we're in the basement of the Old World COnference Western division.
Maybe I suck as a GM... but it's still a lot of fun. Drop by our website and check it out. You'll like it. Brian |

We just finished our 2004 World Series and are converting to OOTP5 soon.
We have two teams open: Dublin - this team could have an AMAZING pitching staff if an owner made the right moves. they need to resign their 2004 Cy Young Award Winner for starters... definitely a QUALITY team to work with here. Jupiter - a train wreck and then some. Good news is they have the #1 overall pick in our 2005 Live Ammy Draft. If you like a fixer-upper, here's your chance! We are looking for new owners to do some contract extensions for their new teams before we proceed to next season. This is a good opportunity in a great league! http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/deh34 |

Let me repeat that... Dublin has a lot of potential. They have one of the league's best pitchers in Joseph Robinson (two-time Cy Young Award winner) and have plenty of cap room. With the right moves, they could be a contender again next year (they were the OWC West champs the first two years of the league).
Jupiter, on the other hand, is a mess due to a barely there GM who did pretty much nothing for almost 3 full seasons. They have had great draft picks since the beginning, and now they have the first overall, so I'm guessing they're farm system has some real winners. I can't be sure because the team file is still password- protected (grumble, grumble). Can we fix that Dave? We have seen some great storylines develop in our league, including: The Archie Robertson bobblehead doll controversy The Wayne Fyfe vs. Mark Felker collision Raul Manzano vs. everybody Ronnie Parnell and his 218.00 ERA Is Jonothan Santillan worth 15 mill a year? We're looking for some active owners who are willing to spend some time on the message board doing articles and stuff. Also, having a spare ootp5 number so we can get an official .400 league site is a bonus. Brian |

Naples and Jupiter are taken.
Only Powerhouse Dublin is left!!! Get on board now! You can relocate your team and rename and all that jazz! |

I'm going to put in a bump, here, because I've never put in a bump before, and despite the fact that I don't really know what it means--though my understanding of its meaning is something like "Yea, verily!"
In this case, it means great league, good team in Dublin . . . so BUMP! Last edited by Doctor Flatbush; 05-08-2003 at 10:13 AM. |
