StatsLab SQL Utilities for OOTPX

I was scared to attempt this but your video made it easy and quick to get the utilities running for my league.

I'm having troubles manually adding a player to the Hall of Fame ballot. I put in a player ID for a batter and pitcher, do not get any errors, but when I look at the ballot, they do not show up. Any ideas?

They have to:
1. Be officially retired in OOTPX.
2. Not be in the OOTPX HOF already.
3. Have played in the StatsLab primary league.

I figured I'd throw this out here again. So I gave up on this with my host months ago, but today I decided to see if I could get it working again. I deleted everything and reinstalled everything from scratch. I have patch 3 installed and things are up and running, but.... I randomly get 500 Internal Server errors when I'm trying to load the large SQL files. I've attempted splitting the files and I still get the same issue. It seems really random as to when I get the errors. Sometimes I get them when I try to load 1 split file and other times I've able to load 4 split files without a hitch. It doesn't seem to be any specific file that causes it either, since if I rerun the file it normally then works.

This is the error showing up in my log every time it errors out.

I'll do that in a few.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the load it's putting on the server... I know Dreamhost has a throttling mechanism that will basically put all your sites in stand still for a bit because your site is using too much of their resources.

You should really look at getting a new host. I can give you the name of mine via PM if you like. They're great and we don't deal with all that 'throttling' stuff.

Getting a new host would be a lot more hassle then I really want to deal with. I'm actually really happy with Dreamhost. The league site is the least of my worries, it's my other sites that I do the most work on (that run Wordpress). But send me the name, and I'll look into them in case I need a backup plan.

It's not actually throttling, it's processes being killed for using too much memory.

Ok, I've worked through the file laod isue, but I'm still having some fetch issues. I want to confirm that I'm exporting the proper SQL files. Looking through the original readme and then the subsequent patches this appears to be the list of exports needed. Names of some of the exports have changed since they original readme so I listed what appears to be the corresponding versions.

Given the fact that your player page in the Career Metrics module isn't working, I'd say your players table didn't get loaded (aka players_basic, aka players.mysql.sql). Also double check to see that you've got players_game_batting and players_game_pitching loaded.

I'm not even seeing those tables in mysql, so it's as if they didn't get generated when I installed this time... weird. Looking through the files real quick I can't find the sql to run to throw those in along with the proper settings inside them, where are those listed?

So on to the next one, how do I go about adding the widgets into my front page... Anyone try adding the widgets as php into Wordpress? I'm having some issues with they normal way I would run PHP in a WP sidebar widget.

I keep getting errors like this.

Got another one, I'm having issues with some teams dev reports. Most of the teams work, but for some teams I am consistently getting 500 errors.

Looks like you ran development with ratings off, then ran it with ratings on, so you've got every rating for every player in the league going from 0 to whatever their current rating is.

To fix, you'll want to clear out the dev history.
Go to your development admin page, clear your development history, and run development again. This will reset the development and store off the current ratings as the baseline starting point. After your next sim, you'll start seeing real development updates.

I've not installed them in WordPress myself, but you might try the full server path or using a . before the directory (to indicate relative to the current directory) in your include statement:

e.g.
include("/home/<whatever>/rwbl.net/widgets/lg_100_div_leaders.wgt");
or
include("./widgets/lg_100_div_leaders.wgt");

Oh yeah, I guess that would make sense. I was thinking it was relative to root so I didn't need to include the full path. So are you excepting donations for this? I got some paypal cash with your name on it.

Cool, glad that worked for you.

Donations are welcome from those that would like to. You can use the email address in the StatsLab readme. Certainly not required, though.
