Since only the last game matters I guess the Saints, Eagles, and Cards now have no chance while we put the Vikings, Packers, and Cowboys ahead of all of the great wins the Saints have had this year

And I am kidding, I have long learned not to put too much into 1 game especially in the NFL and even more so when the Cards or Saints had nothing to play for.

I think it would be better if the NFL would schedule the last 3 games as divisional opponents. This would make it less likely to have teams lie down at the end of the season effect the entire league.

It would also make it more likely that teams may have to play out at least to week16 since the div games won't be out of the picture until late.

Lets face it, the Jets don't belong in the playoffs. They are there. They will be a first round out IMO.

If they were playing anyone but the Bengals Id agree. The Jets just physically dominated them in every aspect last night. The Bengals may not have cared a whole lot but when someone beats you down you need to atleast show some type of fight back.

I completely disagree. You do not need to show anything since you are going to play them next week. It doesn't matter how badly they lost. Football is a lot about intensity. If you come into a game with the sole purpose of laying down, the intensity level certainly isn't there.

The Jets can't even beat the Falcons at home, you think they'll beat a team that swept their division? A team that belongs in the playoffs? At their place no less? The Bengals will win convincingly. Remember, it's easy to physically dominate someone when they let you.

Think about it.....the Bills won 30-7 was it? Are they that much better than the Patriots? No...the Pats layed down.

Bills played the Colts(not Pats). The Colts played some of their starters all of 26 plays and were tied when the starters were done.

The Bengals had 7 yards of offense in the first half with their starters in the game and a game the Bengals wanted to win to get a higher seed. Jets pounded them with the run game and beat them up defensively. It was truely a beatdown.

Jets basically showed last night that they have a lot more heart.

Bengals are in a lot of trouble. I cant see them coming back from getting it handed to them like that in 1 week. They are a fragile unit to begin with.

Im not sure why you think the Jets are so terrible to begin with.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagar...terstitialskip

They wont beat a team with a high powered offense but they will be able to hold their own with teams like the Ravens and Bengals.

Ok, you are entitled to your opinion. In my opinion the Bengals did not come to win that game. Therefore your entire analysis goes right out of the window. If what you say is true then the Bengals will get their butts handed to them next week. But you'll see. The Bengals will beat them handily.

Thats fine... I cant think of one imaginable reason to go out on prime time and just get completely embarrassed. Even with a vanilla gameplan your team can go out and block someone and tackle. They looked like a cold weather team that was scared to get cold to me.

Also Im really not sure why a team wouldnt have any interest in getting the #3 seed. I guess Id have no interest in playing Peyton Manning until I have to.

Most of the times I am boggled by this as well. I have watched the NFL for over 30 years now and have seen it on numerous occasions. However, this one is easy. Why should Cinci go all out to get a 3rd seed? So they can play Baltimore? In this specific situation, there was no need.

You knew before the game the Bengals were laying down for the Jets. Everyone said as much. If they're not going to play to win, what intensity do you think they can bring to the field?

Good question. They would have been better of just benching their starters rather than getting beat on like did if they had no intention of trying. Their top WR is now banged up and they gave the Jets all the confidence in the world going into next week.

I question this. Johnson injured his knee pregame but was still out there dropping passes for most of the first half. If they were really playing for nothing, theres no way Marvin Lewis lets Johnson play with a bum knee. The bungles just looked real sloppy, many dropped passes. If they were just out there running hte ball and using backups, i'd agree they weren't trying. However, they were throwing the ball and receivers were just dropping it. The bengals have looked bad these last few weeks. Unless Sanchez plays really bad and has 3+ picks, I think the Jets take this game decently.

We'll find out saturday

I don't know why they do what they do. But the fact is......they were going to lose the game and everyone knew it. Why else would the Jets be a 10 point favorite?

I would be shocked if the Jets won next week. They are just a bad team. Don't be fooled by the last two weeks. The Jets that played the Falcons are the real Jets. That team is not beating Cinci at their place, at home or on the moon.

Jets were in the top 10 of the Sagarin ratings most of the year so Im still unsure why you think they are so bad.

And bringing up a 3 point loss to the Falcons a 9-7 team doesnt exactly bury them from winning a playoff game.

They have the #1 scoring defense and #1 yards allowed per game defense along with the best rushing offense in the NFL. I certainly wouldnt count them out against any team ESPECIALLY the Bengals.

I agree with this post. A strong offensive and defensive line will absolutely keep you in a close game. One turnover, and BOOM! Winner.

you keep bringing up the falcons game, however that also was ryan's first game back after missing a few weeks so its not like that falcons team was the same one that had been innept the previous few weeks. additionally, the game was played in horrible conditions. when its that bad out, anything can happen

What I can't understand is why people would take anything out of the last two games the Jets played. It doesn't matter what the scores were. It doesn't matter if the starters played a half, a quarter....or whatever. They were not trying to win against a team that needed to win. The last two Jet games mean nothing.

I listen to a sports radio station and there is a host that I can't stand and he is basically saying what I am saying. He is tearing into callers that are saying the opposite. But I guess we'll see tomorrow.
