UKBL has openings
We are a long established league, into our 9th year, and about to start pre season for the 2032 season. We have a great core of commited gm's and good people running things, although it is hugely suspicious to us all that the commish just won the series
(only kidding Shane if you read this). We could really use some fresh faces to liven things up. There are a number of teams available and we are open to anyone not just guys from the UK.Right now is a great time to get involved, we are at the end of a season that has seen the powerhouse teams overturned and some new faces make the playoffs so everyone is competitive and everyone is involved. Most of all we have some fun, so if you can take (and dish out) some banter and think you have what it takes to beat the best the old country has to offer give us a try. Currently teams available Oakland White Sox Twins Yankees (booooo) Padres Reds Cubbies Pirates Braves Nationals Phillies The NL really needs a boost as we have lost a few guys this year for various reasons, but a lot of our gm's come back time and again which has to be a good sign. Quite frankly we could do with some reinforcements of GM's who hail from Blighty as we Brits are starting to get a bit overrun - but anyone and everyone is welcome!
The Twins have just been filled. Teams still vacant are: New York Yankees (2031 record - 75-87) The Evil Empire has fallen on lean times recently but finished 2nd in the AL East last season. They have spent the last few years hovering around the .500 mark but have a strong lineup, a couple solid pitchers at the top of their rotation and are sound financially. They need a GM who is committed to getting them back to the top where they belong. San Diego Padres (2031 record - 91-71) Had a very strong season last year finishing 3nd in a tight NL West and narrowly missing out on the wildcard spot. They have a good lineup from top to bottom, a very strong one-two-three punch in their rotation and their farm system is in pretty decent shape. Would be ideal for an owner not looking to take on a big rebuilding job. Cincinnati Reds (2031 record - 92-70) Another team with a strong season last year. Their previous GM just left to take over the Redsox so the team has been looked after pretty well. They have a strong lineup with one of the best hitters in the game, a solid rotation and the 7th best farm system in the league. This was their third straight season with 90+ wins so if you are looking for a team with a good groundwork for future success then the Reds are your team. Chicago Cubs (2031 record - 36-126) There is no way I can really sugarcoat it - as you can see from their record the Cubs have fallen on hard times. Despite winning 82 games the season before, the team has slumped into the mire - they have a couple of good hitters but as you would expect with a team that lost 126 games there are some big holes and their rotation is pretty abysmal. Turning the Cubs around will be no easy task so it will probably require a diehard fan who is not afraid of a little elbow grease. Last edited by Jimmy Jack; 12-15-2009 at 11:41 AM. |

Thanks - response sent
The Reds, Yankees and now most likely the Cubs have now been taken. The Padres are still available to anyone else who is interested. |
