Cash in Trades

I have 2 questions. First, I don't see that cash received in trades shows up in my financials. How can I verify that it does?

Second, my projected budget room is negative. When I asked for $ in a trade, AI told me that my team's financials were negative and so the request was not valid. However, AI would allow me to offer money in a trade. That doesn't seem to make sense. Am I failing to understand something obvious or is there really something wrong here?

Well, the financials in the game aren't the most easily grasped, though they are ultimately functional. You asked a couple of good questions, and I'll try to give you an answer, but it's possible someone more knowledgeable will come along and straighten us both out.

The key line item in the financials affecting trades is Proj. Budget Room. I've never tried to track exactly where trade cash in-or-out actually gets tallied first, but eventually it gets factored into either raising or lowering your Proj. Budget Room. I think it is safe to say that this is the only reason to get involved with cash in trades: to increase budget room for you or for the other team (to make the deal possible).

IMHO, the way the game handles cash in trades is a bit erratic, and sometimes absurd. It needs some work. However, if you still think you are seeing something that's broken, you could post more details on actual trade attempts and/or post screen shots from your trading screen.
