New League Starting

I tried a few leagues but they just werent what I was looking for or the commissioners didnt pay attention enough to detail.

What I was looking for was a league with real players and more owner control of the rosters. Hence, Grandslam MLB was started...

This is what Im wanting to do: start the league from the 1977 actual MLB stats and rosters... create a way to reward team owners that actually outplayed their "real" counterparts that season ... This league will not start until about the end of May... I am looking for serious players who are computer savy, know how to configure an email client like Outlook or Netscape Mail, and know how to use IRC clients (like mIRC or even X-Chat).

It will be a virtual blast and even you really young studs that do not remember players like George Brett, Al Hrabosky, Bob Horner, J.R. Richards (et al) but have game, bring it on, hell, you may even learn a bit about MLB recent history.

For the start, there will only be 26 teams (the first expansion wont start until 1993 season). For a look at who did what in 1977, check out this link

I am hoping to sim a week's worth of games about 2-3 times a real week. So be dedicated. You will have full control over your team except changing the cities and names... but you can make whatever assinine trades and roster changes you desire.

Remember, this is the year that Reggie Jackson hit 3 jacks on 3 pitches in the clinching game of the World Series... The teams will be on a first come-first serve basis... Please send me an email in this format:

level of baseball knowledge
level of OOTP (and sim experience)
level of computer knowledge
any additional comments or suggestions

I will do my best to put you with the team you love. If you are given a team with a great roster of players you will really feel the heat during the first and second seasons... you will need to WIN in order to maintain status quo... this is the fairest way that I know how to get things going without a draft (which I dont really like).

I will in most cases let you know immediately what team you have been assigned or what choices are left if they are not one of the three you're given or at the very least, I will let you know you're in standby mode.

The last big reason I want to start the league is all the commissioners that I have played under had <god> complexes... I swear I will not be like that and actually I wish to let the owners make the decisions and verdicts on controversial issues within the league. The main thing I want to do is create a great league and run the server for it (web, mail, and irc).
