Question on Era Stats

I'm planning a league starting in the 1890s, and after some testing I want to increase the number of CGs in the first few decades (to increase starter wins and decrease saves) & slightly reduce SB totals in the 1890s. I'm guessing that to do so requires adjusting the 'Starting Pitcher Stamina' & 'Stolen Base Attempts' values in the Strategy page. However, I would like to edit it so that my revised values are implemented each year automatically instead of manually. I think these values are derived from the era_stats file, but I'm not sure exactly - would changing the CG% & SBAperRFB values alone do the trick? Thanks!

It's an interesting question. I do it manually to get realistic CGs, because I don't like messing with the DBs. However, my guess is that the CG% stat in that file are irrelevant. I think what controls the SP stamina LTM is IPouts. Hopefully, Spritze or someone of equal authority will come along and confirm or deny.

The frequency of CG's is currently uncontrollable as the game instead tries to match the split of SP and RP innings to historic levels. This results in a leagues starting pitchers having approx. the correct number of innings compared to RP's but there is no finer adjustment that can be made down to the individual game level. ie CG's. Pretty much all historical play is only correct on a total league level and only the major league level at that.

Is it IPouts/GS that controls the split of SP & RP innings (with a value of 27 = 9 innings)? And that is the variable that affects 'Starter Pitcher Stamina'?

I do not believe anyone knows for sure, the person who developed the formulas is the only one with sure knowledge. My best guess is yes.
