FOOL-X Celebrates its 20th season, opens Hall of Fame and announces expansion!

FOOL-X completes its 20th season!

FOOL-X is an OOTP-X based fast-sim online league that is one of three leagues that compose the "FOOL" community. Each season is played in one real life week which surprisingly allows for more immersion for league owners. Teams are able to draft a hot young prospect, develop them in the minor leagues, watch them get their first call up to the majors, become a starter, then an all star to some day a Hall of Famer. An entire player career can occur within 6 months of real time. This causes owners to become attached to their favorites in a way that they normally do not feel in slower pased online leagues. This also allows owners to have the opportunity to build a dynasty from a winning team, or to turn around their struggling team in only a few weeks instead of waiting the seemingly endless amount of time needed in a slower paced league.

Teams compete each season for their rights to be declared FOOL-X champion and find their team's banner on the FOOL-X CHAMPIONS ROW, part of the overall FOOL Community that proudly displays the current champion's banner for each of the three FOOL leagues as well as an archive of past champions and banners.

FOOL-X completed its 20th season in perhaps the most fitting way possible. The premiere franchise of the first two decades, the London Bishops won their 5th FOOL-X title to set a new league record. In their 20 seasons, the Bishops have been the class of the Continental League as they have represented their league in the playoffs 16 different seasons, which is also a league record!

FOOL-X Opens Hall of Fame and announces the inaugural class!

Traditionally once 20 seasons have passed in a FOOL league, it is time to open the league Hall of Fame. FOOL-X announced its inaugural class this past weekend, featuring three of the most outstanding players from its first 20 seasons.

The headliner of the initial FOOL-X Hall of Fame class was the superstar Starting pitcher
Mauro ‘Exorcist’ Morales. The 12 time pitcher of the year and 17 time all star also leads FOOL-X for career wins, Complete Games, Shutouts and Strikeouts. Morales also won the FOOL-X Championship 3 times in his career with the Spring Lions of the Republic League.

You can read more about him as well as the other new members of the hall of fame on the FOOL-X HALL OF FAME page!

FOOL-X announces upcoming expansion!

One of the good problems that FOOL-X faces is owners never want to leave. Often times when a new owner joins the FOOL community, he ends up being a life time member, as traditional slow paced ootp leagues end up feeling boring or dull to them. As interest increases in joining FOOL, it creates a logjam and no real easy way to add new prospective owners.

In the past 20 seasons of FOOL-X, we still have 11 of the original 12 owners. Only one team has changed hands in that time. Since then our waiting list has grown to over 10 names of prospective owners that follow along and patiently wait for a team to open. Due to the amazing success of the league, the league Commissioner's office recently announced a possible expansion of 4 additional teams to FOOL-X, currently pending league vote. The new teams if approved would join the league following the 1984 season!

The FOOL communitee is what OOTP baseball is all about!
Over 100 seasons in the books in the 3 different leagues. There is something special about losing yourself in the history books!

The commish in the league is one of the few reasons this league is great. To me great leagues are about the community having a leader and this league has one of the best. I have no doubt this league will hit 100 seasons at least.
