pitcher rest issue

I've been noticing some oddities that I think shouldn't be happening. I'm using the new feature strict, occasionally highest rested. I first noticed the issue in the playoffs when my pitcher in the second spot in the rotation was skipped over, he was well rested, and the pitcher in the fourth spot in the rotation was pitched on short rest (two days rest).

I noticed it again today.

Here are the screenshots.

Hmmm...I haven't used the new rotation setting, but I think in any event something certainly looks wrong.

Couple questions:
1) Does it work if you use just 'Strict Order' or 'Highest Rested'?
2) Did you edit any injuries or something else from Cabrera or Smith?
3) I suppose it isn't something like Cabrera and Smith got sick or suspended for a couple days and now they are better? Double check the history log for them. You may have already.

I know we have seen this behavior occasionally in the past, but I don't know of the root cause. Also, as you eluded, it could be tied to the new feature.

Thanks for the response.

1. I haven't tried using strict order or highest rested yet so I can't say for certain.
2. There was no editing of injuries. Although I'm tempted to edit the injury to Hernandez who was having an all-star year after returning from injury the previous year.
3. I know there weren't any suspensions. Regarding sort term injuries I didn't check and can't right now as I'm locked out of the game until pisd unlocks my licenses. My intuition tells me that there weren't any injuries but I will check to make sure as I was sick off work and highly medicated at the time of these events

Although the event that occurred during the playoffs indicated (on the daily game screen) that Cabrera was due to start. I selected quick play and noticed that the loss was give to Ramirez. At first I thought that this was amazing, considering he had just started and had only one day rest, that my manager had given him some late inning work in an attempt to lay it all on the line to get to the world series. To my chagrin he started the game, over Cabrera who was fully rested, then gave up five runs in the first inning. Now I did check after the game to see if Cabrera was on a short injury but he was perfectly fine.

Just a quick continuation on the injury question (because otherwise it definitely looks odd)... did you check the box score from the game to make sure Cabrera wasn't listed and then got injured for one of those "this game only" injuries? I know that I have seen pitchers get injured without throwing a single pitch before so it is possible.

In my experience the pitcher list on the daily game screen always matches who is going to be starting based on your rotation settings. The only times this screen are wrong are when you have 7-day lineups enabled which it nevers takes into account for those screens. This of course brings up the second question of if you've used 7-day lineups and if so maybe Ramirez was still hanging out on there and got forced to start due to that.

Yikes I think you figured it out. I think I must have used the seven day line ups for a play off series and then not reverted back. This seems to make the most sense.

How foolish on my part. I threw away two seasons one in which I was a game away from the world series.

I blame the doctor for giving me meds and not attaching a warning. don't use power tools while on this medication and don't play ootp because you won't remember what you did.

Thanks again. I'll double check to make sure but this sounds quite logical.
