Extreme bias by the people who accuse the umpires of rooting for the Yankees, yeah. The same umpire called Swisher out for leaving early when he didn't. Again, give me a break.

As for that 3rd base non-call, the only thing I can think of was that he was behind the 3rd baseman AND Posada so he might not have seen that Cano was off the base. However, he should have asked for help.

My thinking is that you are right. He was behind the 3B AND since Posada didn't move for the bag, the ump thought he stayed off b/c Cano was already on the bag.

But yeah, ask for help. You've already looked bad on the Swisher call.

Cano made the right move. He's not allowed to be on that base if Posada comes back to it. Posada shouldn't have been anywhere near third base again once he broke for home plate.

Are you sure of that? If he takes the bag, Posada is hung out to dry for sure, but 'not allowed'?

I think Posada is having a real bad game. Unbelievable the catcher doesn't know how many outs there are.

If Posada comes back to third base and Cano is on the base, Cano is out. Posada doesn't get hung out to dry at all.

These playoffs have had some of the worst umpiring I've ever seen.

3 blatantly obvious missed calls and about 60+ weird strike calls and non-calls. Yankees played through it and deserve the win though. But I couldn't believe my eyes in game 4.

I strongly disagree here about Cano making the right move by staying off the base. He made the right move to break toward 3rd when he saw Posada moving, but that was the only right move he made. Once they both ended up at 3rd base, Cano should have planted his butt squarely on the base and let Posada be tagged out. Cano would have been safe and the inning would have continued. Cano had no business remaining a foot off 3rd base. It was the biggest bone head move I've seen a Yankee baserunner make in a very long time, even dumber than Posada returning to 3rd.

Did you read the rule? If Cano's on the bag and Posada returns to it, Cano (as the following runner) is out.

Granted, it might be a stretch to assume the umpire would get it right, but it looked to me like Cano knew the rule. He can't occupy that base if Posada is returning to it.

That's the exact reason Posada didn't move for the bag. Posada didn't return to the bag.

Cano should have either stepped on third OR moved away to let Posada know to go to the bag and possibly get caught up in a run down that could have seen both guys be safe.

Looked like to me Cano was surprised Posada came back and froze, not knowing what to do........not like he knew this rule.

Doesn't matter. If he's on the base, at least it's guaranteed that one of them would be safe. If Posada returned, then Cano is out and Posada is safe. If he doesn't, Posada is out while Cano is safe. The way he did it, he risked both of them being out almost happened.

I stand by opinion that Cano deserves the bone head play of the game award (followed closely by Posada for starting toward home in the first place, then for going back and causing the issue).

Well, while not impossible, I just do not see the Angels rattling off three straight. They might win the game at home but then the Yankees will take game six.

At least Manchester United is topping the league right now
