Adding "fictional" (edited) players to historical leagues

I am trying to find out how to add "fictional" players to a league based on the historical league. First let me be explicit about what I want to do, which is add Negro league players to the talent pool during the pre full integration period (that period in which all the major league teams removed their informal agreements to limit the number of blacks on a team ~1960, these agreements resulting in serious talent being kept in the minors).

I ideally would like to restrict the teams that can have access to this talent (certain teams appeared based on the Pittsburgh Courier and internal team documents to be much more open to integration than others). So If I could edit names and and potentials (admitidly to WAG potentials and currents) of current fictional players or just wholesale add these players it would accomplish my goal.

How would I do this? Can't seem to find that in the current help options. Thanks in advance.

I add fictional players to historical leagues routinely, and it is pretty easy to do. Any players in your league, fictional or real, can be edited. You can do that by exporting to Excel or something similar, editing, and then reimporting. If you want to use the ratings editor to get correct ratings based on real stats, you'd have to do this editing inside the game engine (in the Editor tab for each player). How you would "restrict access" is a problem I can't solve.

I should note that there are couple of DBs out there that already include Negro players of that era, so that work may already have been done for you.

That's just some thoughts to see more precisely what kind of help you need.
