Here is a suggestion that will combine a couple of others' wishes.....
Please improve the Player Development Report - preferably with charts/graphs like Neags' DevTracker. In solo leagues or leagues that use scouting, it's almost impossible to meaningfully track changes in-game using the current Player Development Report. - update it more often than once per year, say 3-4 times per year minimum - have a logged history of ratings movement somewhere in the player's page for easy reference (maybe a new tab?). I know the Scouting Report section kind of takes care of this, but it is VERY limited currently with what it shows, and again, it only updates once per year. - a return of "player X has been taking extra practice in the batting cages and it shows"-type emails from your scouts (I said this earlier in the thread, but it is relevant here) |

I'd like to see reminders from coaches/scouting staff/other non-playing personnel that their contracts are due to end soon. This doesn't seem to exist in the game right now, and that's caused me to turn coaching off, since I don't always remember to check my coaches' contract status. I leave the scouting on, because remembering to check that contract status isn't too hard. But coaching and scouts? nope. Can't seem to remember to do that.

How about some honest support, if you are working on a new version and find a fix for an old version, why not give the fix in a new patch for the old version instead of just saying that the old version got the final patch?
Like many are saying, how about a version that plays like it is suppose to instead of having months of waiting for patches? |

The only change I'd like to see: a way to Import a game from your Exported .csv files. This could be accomplished by exporting those .csv files into a "Lahman format" or by adding a new import process to read straight from those files. Editing would be made much simpler, and the fictional historical league will finally be made a reality.

As to my own wishes for OOTP XI, I can only say I would love to see a more robust minor league/feeder league system, with the possibility of buying ML contracts, independent minor leagues, etc. (For details check with LGO! ![]() Oh yes -- and keep up the good work with pitcher ratgins! |

Improved manager histories, i.e. be able to look at any team and see who managed the team what years- or what portions of that year -and the stories behind the personnel involved.
Everybody's got a story. They deserve one, too.

For the Minor League System report, instead of using potential ratings, it would be MUCH easier if actuals were used to make it easier on decision making. I really don't pay that much attention to the scout's suggestions on movement.
Not only that, I would appreciate if all of Contact/Gap/Power/Eye/K's were on there instead of just Contact/Power/Eye. Also, if Stamina and Velocity would be added for the pitchers, that would be cool. |

I have read through this thread and have some ideas. Some of this is reiterating things I read that I agreed with. I don't expect you to be interested in all of these for this version.
Mass select would be wonderful, especially when promoting and demoting players. I would like to see more transparency in the Manager slide controls. That is to say, I could not find anywhere that would tell me what the likelyhood of that thing happening would be. What I read was that these would control variations off of the standard strategies for those situations. What are the standard strategies. (I am a casual baseball fan who used to be a fanatic 30 years ago.) Ability to turn off the music but keep the other sound effects. Here is an idea to help with immersion. It would be nice if the crowd noise had more to do with the events on the field or the situation. I have not noticed too much of a correlation. One possibility would be a crowd noise loop (almost white noise) that gained in volume based on the tension of the situation and then climaxed into another sound. For example, a batter gets a hit, the crowd starts to make a little more noise. The next batter gets a hit, the crowd gets louder. The next batter strikes out. The crowd noise lessens but starts to build up again to the same level as before. The next player hits into a double play and the crowd noise changes from 'white noise' to an 'awwwwww'. Alternatively, if the player hits a home run, the crowd noise gets louder and morphs into a cheer. Don't forget to alter responses due to home vs away teams at bat. Another thing that would help with immersion would be to have little nodescript players on the field shifting, running toward the ball, etc. (This may be more work than it is worth.) I agree with the post(s) that indicated more transparency in ballpark effects. Injuries seem to be too frequent. I think I would like to be able to make notes about the players in the game instead of on a spreadsheet. (Maybe -- maybe not --- it might be better for me to just keep using my spreadsheet) Keep up the good work! Dean |

Player histories of candidate slots for awards. In other words, given the game engine allows the top three selections for an award (I don't know why), let the player history show he was a 3 time Cy Young candidate, or twice in contention for Hitter of the Year, etc... I don't care about what slot, but it bears mention that he was a candidate at all.

Add League Fielding Stats to Yearly History Recap pages. It could replace the Misc. categories.

I do not know if this is possible at all, but it would be great if the game had an option so that when creating the new fictional league, the game creates the "history" of the league.
1. Let's say I create a fictional league that starts from 2009. 2. Even though it is the new league, sometimes I want some background history of the league so that I can have the background story. 3. By selecting the option for the "Create history of the league", with the length of the history (ex: from 1901), the game will automatically create the league history. 4. The history does not have to be deep. Just some of the key elements for the league history would be great. (Like League champions, MVPs, Best pitchers, HOF players, etc, all created based on the rules, settings you chose upon initial creation of the league) This option will allow me to start the league with history, without having to auto sim for 100 years (taking all night or more), ending up with the huge game data that will slow down the game play significantly. I assume this will be very difficult (or impossible) to achieve though...

Multiple Scouts
1. A way for your high school feeder to also feed into your college feeder.
2. Multiple Scouts at least as an option, I used this feature alot when it was in ootp 8 i believe and its more realistic to send scouts out instead of the budget model 3. More flexible schedule makeup for high school and college leagues 4. Fall and winter league options that gives you the ability to send players to play from your team that needs more playing time 5. Option to choose between wood and aluminium bats and make them affect player performance |

Ugh! Why is it these types of threads always get started when I'm not around? (I spent the last two nights at the hospital with my girlfriend, so at least it was because of something important. But still...
![]() Ok, you KNOW I've got tons to contribute here, so let me gather my thoughts and I'll get back with you. ![]() I haven't even had time to thoroughly read through these posts yet, but one thing did cross my mind as I was glancing through them. You can get a general idea of which ideas are most popular by how many "thanks" they get. ![]() Anyway, don't go anywhere. I'll be back shortly! ![]()

Even though I really want to give more detailed proposals, I'm just really antsy to get in on this discussion, so here are my top priorities at the moment...
1. PLEASE allow us to export, edit, then re-import all data used in the game via csv files! 2. Revise the feeder system. Advanced details are forthcoming, but for now, here are some basics:
3. Incorporate the 10-5 no-trade clause, as well as limited/partial NTCs (based primarily on free agency prefernces) that are periodically waived as a player's mood/morale changes 4. Implement advanced player personalities that reflect their attitudes toward opponents, umpires, teammates, coaches, front office, and society in general (These would affect things like team chemistry, ejections, on-field altercations, contract negotiations, and off-field issues) 5. Revise the injury system based on an action/result format (more details to come) and incorporate advanced suspensions for both on-field and off-field infractions, based on personality 6. Use additional (preferably editable) free agency factors, including familiarity with other players/coaches (More specific ideas later) 7. Allow for more total ethnicities/name sets and more specific ethnicities per each nation 8. Apply nation factors (baseball quality, ethnicities, etc.) to individual states/regions or even to specific cities 9. Add more All-Star Game options (details to come) as well as other events, like a home run derby and futures game 10. Add more awards (true MVP, Reliever, Comeback, Executive, additional custom, etc.) and allow them to apply either league-wide or per sub-league 11. Add additional HoF criteria (stolen bases, strikeouts, defense, managing, etc.) 12. Add rain-outs and doubleheaders (even if they have to be added randomly) 13. Update the in-game screen to include:
(Details on each of these to follow) 14. Allow more facegen customization, including hair, additional standard ethnicities, more realistic-looking faces for specific ethnicities, the ability to manually customize ("tweak") each face, and the feature that allows you to create a facegen face from an existing photo 15. Add 1B, 3B and bullpen coaches 16. Add umpires (with ratings for skill and temperament that affect the number of blown calls and ejections, respectively) 17. Add player agents (with ratings that affect how difficult they are to negotiate with) 18. Add team owners (with ratings that determine how thrifty [i.e. "cheap"] they are and how involved [i.e. "meddlesome"] they are in the everyday decision-making process) 19. Incorporate more advanced front office/financial factors (Not a big priority for V11, but I'll give more details soon anyway) 20. Allow more control over what types of emails are sent, news stories are displayed, and triggers are used to stop simming Plus, here are some other random ideas:
And remember... make all of it as CUSTOMIZABLE as possible!

Never have the AI bat a pitcher in the bottom of the ninth. This kills the thrill and excitement of taking, or gaining a one-run lead into the ninth, especially with runners on base.
