Replacing Injured Players during a Playoff Series

I am wondering if the MLB rules have changed regarding replacing an injured player during the playoffs, because the AI put its' injured player on the disabled list, and called someone up in between the 6th and 7th game of the League Championship Series. I thought roster moves were only allowed during the breaks between the series.

Rules changed last year if I remember correctly. The Aug 31 rules still apply as to who you can call up though.

If you want the skinny on current MLB playoff roster rules, may I suggest you check out this thread? Forum member Le Grande Orange has done some excellent research to uncover the current rule setup, which MLB unhelpfully does not publish in full.

Unfortunately OOTP doesn't adhere to these rules (which I suppose is understandable given that a.) they're largely unpublished, and b.) they're constantly changing). You would have to take control of AI teams and manually prevent them from making moves in violation of these rules if you want them enforced.

Another serious problem is waiver claims after September 1 (and in the playoffs!) producing valid players. In a solo league, my opponent made 2 waiver claims before game 5 of the World Series, including that night's starter. It's ridiculous.

I have a work around for that. Set DFA and waivers to 31 days at the end of the season. This prevents the scenario you describe, but allows players to be claimed after the season is over.

I agree this is a ridiculous situation that should have never made it out of the alpha product design work.

Previous versions of OOTP did not allow unlimited substitution in the middle of playoff series. All people are asking for is a feature that was previously implemented quite well and for some unexplained reason was left out of the last 2-3 versions.

I'm not sure anyone expects perfect adherence to every rule for playoff rosters.

I ran into a problem with additions to the playoff rosters as well, as I chronicled in this thread

100% agree. If not the playoffs are almost a joke.
