Question on Contracts with No Free Agency

I've been playing around with the OOTPX demo, and was wondering what happens with player contracts if your league has no free agency? Do you still need to renegotiate contracts, or do they go to arbitration, or what? Thanks for any help.

They automatically resign every year when you go into the off-season. The salary is determined by the game, though. I believe you can negotiate with them if you want, but if you don't have anything in place by the time you click to sim into the offseason, they get a new contract.
