Value Index (VI) - HW
Here is a quick gauge to see if a fighter on your team is actually carrying his weight or is a bum.
Value Index (VI) is a little stat that takes the total number of points that a fighter earns and divides that by his official rating. HEAVYWEIGHT Gold Conference Top 3: 7.20 - Vassily Jirov (5) - Diggstown Ringers 5.80 - Cesar Brion (5) - East Coast Gladiators 5.07 - Alexander Zolkin (7) - Tomato City Gold Conference Bottom 3: 0.50 - Herbie Hide (6) - Bear's Unstable 0.33 - Mike Schreck (3) - Bonner Springs Bald Beavers 0.14 - Mike Hunter (7) - [FREE AGENT] Silver Conference Top 4: 5.56 - Tom Sharkey (8) - Chilton Roughnecks 4.83 - Wayne Braithwaite (6) - Nebraska Corn Jabbers 4.69 - Chris Byrd (8) - IceTeaBoxing 4.69 - Ruslan Chagaev (8) - Undisputed Champions Silver Conference Bottom 3: 0.43 - Fred Fulton (7) - [FREE AGENT] 0.00 - Tim Witherspoon (8) - Villebillies -0.11 - Roscoe Toles (9) - Toronto Tornados

Thanks. I was hoping to compile the info for all divisions before I started running Week 9, but didn't get around to it.
Each fighter's VI number is listed on the team's roster page in the UTBA Rosters thread, which gets updated after every week of action. I have a formula built into Excel so I don't have to break out a calculator for each fighter to get the number. Personally, I think that the VI number is very useful when setting up your team prior to each season. In fact, I plan on posting EOY VI numbers for each fighter/team and it will include the VI numbers from past seasons. That way, you can see if your guy is actually worth keeping or is valuable trade bait. If anyone has questions about individual fighters on their teams with respect to VI numbers from previous seasons, PM me and I'll get the info to you. |

I don't think I'll be waking up to good news, unless the Ringers have somehow had 2 matches scheduled simultaneously
!!! I do believe in miracles, but they are just that. Fight on, Binks!!! Loris Stecca, get your first win!

We did a little better than expected, but our playoff run is likely done
. I'd hoped that, by some scheduling snafu, the Ringers would have 2 matches and would have to divide their team.Congrats to the Ringers . I'm feeling on a par with my most recent divorce, from Psycho Bride (2005)! Who hit me up for a "loan" yesterday. Still, we improved over the last outing with the Ringers.![]() On a positive note, the beer will be cold this weekend, my Maryland and Northern VA side of the family will be in for crabs, and we'll salute those who are nearing the end of the line ![]() Taking 2 days off in a row is the most I've done in the last 5 years, other than over Christmas.

Argh!!!
I never match up well with Bear! It's like he's inside my head, one step ahead of me, psychic ... (and other paranoid ramblings!)
![]() Seriously, congrats on the win, Bear. My guys won just enough matches to move out of the cellar, but too many to get a high draft pick. It may be fire sale time at the end of the season. Gotta move up and make some trades.

Glad I got through the match with enough points to move into the lead for wildcard slot. Don't know if getting the wildcard is something to be congratulated for given the competion in the playoffs with Diggstown and the Beaver's. Hide's turning prime will help but those guys have been my nemesis. You picked up a FLY title and that is something to be happy about.

Well, clinch a .500 match record for the first time. Still, dont think it will do much in the way of helping in the wild card race but it feels good to no longer be a pushover. One week to go in our crazy, crazy division.
