Any way to change "drafted" data in infobox?
On a player's html (or BNN-style) report page, there is an infobox on the upper righthand side of the screen, which lists some personal data, and one of the lines is (for example)
Drafted: 2007, 10th Pick in Round 2 Is there any way to edit this? I can edit the player History, of course (the lines of data which appear at the bottom of the player's report page). But I can't find any way to change this "Drafted" info. It's not in the Editor. I was hoping that it was somewhere in the exported database info, which I could change, and then re-import, but I don't see it in there, either. |

Odd. I'm wondering if it's gathering the info from the draft log itself then. Is that a part of the player.dat or is it a solitary file that, itself, might be edited? I can't recall.

I am guessing it probably gets that information from the same place that the team drafted players lists (in league history) keep that information. As players who are minor leaguers never make the majors and retire, they disappear from that list which leads me to believe it is kept on that player entry somewhere.
Since I don't see it in the editor anywhere, I assume it is a non-editable part of the player record somewhere. Just a guess however

Thanks very much for the prompt replies, gentlemen.
In the Jamaica League, we had a draft snafu, which we fortunately figured out by the end of our first round. So, all the players ended up on their correct teams without too much trouble, but there's the nagging inconsistency of their "Drafted" data being inaccurate. |

More than a few leagues I started that were made up of, in part, by players I created with filling levels, only later to find that, IMHO, annoying Joined the Cannontown team, or whatever it says; a team that no longer exists. Oh well...In any event, what I meant to post was this: is this data, then, the correct draft information, the one in the Player History? 03-01-07 Drafted in the 2007 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 10, 10th overall Pick) by the St Ann Northerns.

Yes, that is right. I've corrected the data in all of the league reports, team reports, and player reports (that is, in the .txt "history" files). There were six players who ended up needing to have their info adjusted, and I covered it all.

And still, those six players are the ones that remain with faulty data in the BNN page even after all of your changes. Am I getting this right?

I see that there is still an error in the history line quoted above, the “St Ann Northerns” link goes to the wrong team--I will fix that. |

Sorry guys, but these values are in the players.dat file and you cannot edit them there.
Code:
(p->misc.draft_year) (p->misc.draft_pick) (p->misc.draft_round) |

Satchel,
Can you send me the players.dat (or retired.dat if necessary) and let me know the player id's that are wrong and what the correct draft round and pick and year is and I'll edit them for you. Send me a pm and I'll give you my email address

Glad everything worked out, satchel. Small things loom so large sometimes. Thanks for the help, Andreas and Tony.
