I'd like to see the ability to have Winter Leagues function as they do IRL. Maybe it could be done something like Spring Training(?)

I think the Winter Leagues could function more like the way All Star teams do in OOTP.

Think about the similarities:

Players on All Star teams are under contract to other clubs while they play on the All Star team.
Players on Winter League teams are under contract to other clubs while they play on the Winter League team.

Players on All Star teams are temporarily part of the All Star team for a few days, then returned to their normal club once the game is over.
Players on Winter League teams are temporarily part of the Winter League team for a few weeks, then returned to their normal club once the games are over.

Players on All Star teams can come from a number of different teams.
Players on Winter League teams can come from a number of different teams.

I was initially going to say, "not like Spring Training", but I could see how that could work.

Although, if you wanted to work it similar to Spring Training (in that each team is comprised of players from one single organization), you could do that now by making a new minor league affiliate for each club with a schedule from November to January.

It would really only work for human leagues though, the CPU would have no concept for why these new affiliates exist.

Of course, that wouldn't get rid of the existing Winter League classification.

Couldn't we have an iPhone version of OOTPX ?

I definitely see where OOTP online could improve the gameplay a lot. I find online leagues less fulfilling, but I'd feel different if the system (while it works well) were less 10-30 or whatever people working independently and submitting their work, but instead everyone having access to the database in real time. Drafts would be a million times easier to process, and I imagine trades could be as well.

Some thrive in online leagues because of the competetion factor, and in a more streamlined system I'm sure many of us single players would enjoy it more. I'll never stop playing single player though- I enjoy being in complete control of my universe too much.

We're still working hard on an additional patch right now. It's progressed to the point where our beta testers are looking at it, but there's still more to look through...
