How do you handle HOF inductions?

Most of the time I just let the AI induct all HOFers. I leave the "automatic" values alone and let em go. But recently I have finished simming my 23rd season (simming MY history as a player before I "get" a management position) and I noticed one guy who, by my standards, should be in the HOF. I feel a bit strange overriding the induction process, so I will leave it up to you guys (and gals). If after a period of time he gets 70% approval, he'll be in. Here he is, Ladies and Gentlemen, EDWIN "bugs" JOSE.

Edwin "Bugs" Jose - LF

Drafted by Texas with the #1 pick in the draft. Throughout his 17 year career, all of which were spent with Texas (very nice!), Bugs was a 9 time allstar, 8 time MVP and a 2 time Gold Glove winner. He also won 3 World Championships in Texas.

Career Numbers:

Avg. - .291
Hits - 2521(#6 alltime)
HRs - 497 (#2)
RBI - 1734 (#1)
OBP - .338
SLG - .563
Runs - 1487 (#6)
2B - 729 (#1)
SB - 251 (#20)

He led the league in:

HRs 4x, RBIs 7x, Hits 2x, Runs 4x, 2B 3x, OBP 4x and SLG 5x

He holds the AL record for RBI (161) and 2B (65) as well as the Tex record for hits (198)

The only notes on his career are an ACL injury (season) after 51 games and a strike shortened season (save issues!) after 73 games.

I'm interested what you all think.

Holds the AL record for RBI and is the all-time RBI leader? There's no question, IMO.

In he goes

I had a guy that hit 499 homeruns, and I had to let him in, I had a heart and overrided the AI

He has to be allowed in. I his 497 homers would not be enough on their own, but all his other stats put him over the top. The game's criteria for HOF induction are a useful guide, but you should check every year to make sure guys like this get in there too!

I would absolutly let this guy in.

The 8 time MVP's, 3 rings, and over 2500 hits (with a BA barely under .300) should get him in.

8 MVP's and there's a question whether he belongs in the HoF?

There needs to be a wing named after him in Cooperstown.

I think I get a sense that he should be inducted. I'm pretty sure that I agree, but I'll only let him in if Rose gets in!!! (he-he)
