OOTP 10 Finances Question.
Where is OOTP getting the "projected payroll X" figure on the finances screen from?
It's the number between your starting balance and your money for extensions. It is somehow supposed to represent the projected payroll for the next season... but I am finding that a lot of times it is completely out of whack (and always higher) than the team's salaries listed on their salary page. It's not an arbitration thing, or a pending contract offers thing, or anything else I could think of. Seeing it across multiple leagues. Where does this figure come from... anybody?

In all honesty, that is not usually Markus response when it is proven to him that something is wrong. He already stated that the finance will get fixed in the next patch. Just hope he tackles the bigger problem which is the new pitching engine being out of whack. |

If you look at the salary report, it lists it there.
It takes your current contracts, estimates arbitration amounts for arbitration-eligible players, and takes that as your payroll. Now, it's completely broken, since say my "projected" payroll for next year is 60M, and my team's budget is 65M. This will show me as having 5M for extensions. But if I want to sign an extension for a player who's arbitration estimate is 8M, the game still gives me only 5M to try to sign an extension, despite the fact that I should be able to offer him up to 13M (8M he was estimated for + 5M extensions that I'm allowed to sign. |

Well the issue if somebody can BZ it are the arbitration estimates of players that will become free agents count against your budget. Even if a player has more than 5 years experience his arbitration estimate will still count against your budget for signing players - even if he is the player you are trying to sign.
I'm not sure that is eloquently enough put but examples can be provided if necessary. Last edited by railroad_ross; 08-21-2009 at 10:24 AM. |
