Game crashes when I sim

For some strange reason, the game crashes when I try to sim games, and once it crashed when I was messing with my minor league rosters. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's the info that may be pertinent:

OOTP5 caused an invalid page fault in

I'm running OOTP 5 on Windows 98 SE, I've updated my video card. I have 256 MB of RAM, a 900 Mhz T-Bird processor...I think that's all. If you have anymore questions, or an answer to my problem, please let me know!

Have you rebooted recently? What is running "in the background"? Does it ALWAYS crash at a certain point? Different point or not always?

-Yes, didn't work.

-Just the important programs.

-Every time I try to sim I get an error similar to the one I posted above, and once it crashed when I was messing with my minor league rosters. But every time, without fail, it crashes when I try to sim.

It's a standard league, using the TotalMinors roster pack. I did a fantasy draft, and I got through the entire draft fine, and it even let me sim the opening game (not my team) on March 30, but whenever I try to sim a game for my team, it crashes. I'm using manager mode.

Sounds like you need to just reset the league(league setup) and start over, no clue what is going on but that little of the season...

lvpro, I am having a similar problem - Do you also crash when trying to get a "Top 50 Prospects", "Top Minor League Systems", report, etc? (Edit: I also crash every time I try to go to the manager screen)

I do, every time. And also every time I try to sim, just as you explain. I too am using a default league with Total Minors, but I did not do a fantasy draft. I spent about 2 hours making trades right after i set up the league, crashing a couple of times in the trade screen. Now I can't even play my game

I tried reinstalling, it didn't help. I can play fine as long as I'm not using this particular saved game, so obviously the game corrupted it somehow. Which really sucks, since I spent so long setting my team up

My system is an Athlon 1800+, 768mb ram, all-in-wonder 9700 pro w/ updated drivers, Windows XP. The crash I get is just a generic Win XP crash window, "OOTP5.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

That seemed to work pretty well, Steve. Thanks a lot. I did have some crashing after I started the new league, but I think it was just due to background programs, because I didn't have any problems after I shut down all the other unnecessary programs. Once again, thanks a ton Steve. Keep up the great work!
